By shear dumb luck I ended up going with on this outing. As I was attempting to launch my boat my parking brake failed and my manual tranny would not hold me on the ramp’s incline. So I pulled off the ramp and started to check out the damage to the brakes. My fishing partner for the day bailed out with no phone call or anything. Had he been along I would have been able to get the rig in the water. So as I’m muttering a few choice words about it all, I hear someone ask if I was having some problems. The voice was from Tony, who was waiting for Robby at the ramp, after learning of my trouble offered to take me along. Who knew that with such a crappy start the day would be one of the best on the river in a long time. I totally enjoyed the company and would fish with either of them again, I’ll even buy the beer!!!!! I just wanna say thanks again to Tony and Robby for salvaging my day, they are without a doubt a couple of class acts!!!!

Well that settles it, I’m just gonna have to make two trips each year! I’ll be sure to post when I go up next time.
February 6, 2004 at 11:53 pm #291712We almost always get a good limit, but nothing over 21″, which is fine with me…better flavor. But it would be nice to get a biggie I’m goimg to keep a better eye on the water temps there and plan my next fall trip accordingly. I have added thir web site to my favorites they update weekly. http://www.clementsfishing.com Very nice folks running it, and I just love the killer jigs they make there. I dont see too many people using them here, (pool 15), but I’ve had real good luck with them in the tailwaters.
February 3, 2004 at 3:10 am #291252Hi rooster and ty, no but I know the water you are talking about never fished it though. My in law took back roads and we were somewhere between fulton and erie I think never fished that one before sun. I would love to fish the one right before you enter Cordova on the left, it has some of the nicest structure I have ever seen too bad its all private. Hell I’ve even offered those folks to sign a liability waiver for thier insurance but to no avail. Would even pay a yearly membership oh well. I’m going out tomorrow to the lake I was sopposed to fish on sunday. I broke down and finally bought an ice shanty today so I cant wait to try it out!! Thinking later in the week for a trip to lake george to see if I can locate some eyes!

January 31, 2004 at 2:32 am #290930hi river rat and tks for the welcome! I’m going to try a small lake across andalusia road from the camp grounds. I was on Big Island a couple weeks ago right before the Conservation Club entrance..lots of small ones I did better on a small pond just on the oter side of the canal..north. I fish the canal alot in spring when the water is high by highway 92. Hope all the folks on Big Island keep up the good fight against all the proposed changes there… just worrie about the environmental impact!
