I put mine on last summer an it was pretty easy. Main thing is getting that first sheet installed squared up with the roof. I put on the exposed fastner type roof and put ice and water over the entire roof.
It would matter what you are using for bait as well. If you have a bigger size bait on like a sucker you would probably have to use a notch. Little bit of trial and error should get er dialed in as far as wind condition and bait size.
As far as notch settings go, I think it depends on wind conditions. If there is little or no wind I set mine on the tapered end between the notch and the end.
I have one that you can borrow if you would like. We will be up Friday early evening and are on the east side just south of the Liberty Beach access. Shoot me a pm if interested and we can set something up.
I use 2 Round LED puck lights that HT makes. They have magnets on the back side that you can just slap onto your shack poles. They are small and give off plenty off light.
Is there access to the space above the lights? If so, make sure the lights are rated for direct contact with insulation( should be marked with the letters IC rated) and place insulation around the lights. The tape idea should work as well. If the lights are not air tight and you have no access from above an air tight can is the way to go.
I use mine in my portable ice shack and it didn’t seem to last very long in really cold weather with the 1#. I switched to the 20# right away and it seems to be much more efficient.
It’s the lake that is the headwaters of the St.Croix north of Hole in the wall casino. Not the one by Stillwater. Never been there, maybe I got the names mixed up?
When you use your cam do you have it in a hole right next to the hole your fishing or is it a little ways away. Do you think the cam might spook them a bit?
I’m pretty green when it comes to open water fishing and never fished with a jig other than beneath a bobber. I’ve seen how they are worked on sport shows but couldn’t tell if they were drifting, trolling, or anchored.
They have steel brackets w/ mounting clip and 1/4-20 screw for securing the box to the bracket that will span the 2 foot section of the grid. If the fixture is heavy run some ceing wire from top of box to whatever solid structure is above your drop ceiling. Any electrical wholesale house would have this bracket.
Just got off the phone w/ Barnacle’s and they said wheelers only because they are dredging out front and Hunter’s has vehicle traffic going out using the North access. I’m cutting outta work early tommorrow and headed up to Hunter’s. Good luck this weekend! em!
