used my Marcum VS 380 up there twice this year in about 20 feet of water could see about 4 feet during the day and about 2 feet after dark with lights on. In 30 feet hardly anything even during the day with lights on.

I have a 380 and I can’t believe how much better it is compared to the older cameras. Using it side by side with an Aquaview I had almost 40 min. more viewing after the Scouts picture disappeared, and when I did turn on the lights I could still see almost as good. I used it up at Lake of The Woods, during the day in 15 feet of water I could see my lure and the fish about 4 feet away. At night I had to move it up to about 2 feet but I could see my lure and there was no snow to look thru. In 25 feet of water over soft bottom during the day I could see bottom with the light on but that was it

I have used my LX5 in the same house with an FL 18,12 and a 8 at the same time it takes some playing around with the IR on each unit but we all find the setting that we can live with. But I will tell you I have to do less playing with the LX5 and I wont have any problem on the Marcum.

I was fishing with Steve Fellegy up on MilleLacs when he had a strike the fish turned and started to come towards the boat. Steve reached to pull up the trolling motor and when he did that fish turned and I swear he looked right at me. When he was about ten feet from the boat he came out of the water and was headed for the center of my chest. While he was in the air I could see Steve’s lure hanging out of his mouth . I started to fall back and to one side the fish’s head missed me but he hit me just behind the gills and just above my waist. We both went to the floor he got caught in the landing net and the lure got stuck there. Steve turned around and just stood there my son who had watched the whole thing was laughing so hard couldn’t control him self said that the fish was still climbing when he hit me and had to be about six feet off the water. I thought for sure I was going swimming with a 43″ muskie attached to my chest. Don’t ever want to see that again.

Was using my LX5 this weekend on panfish in 15 feet of water at one point I could see 5 seperate red lines within 1 foot of my lure turned my camera towards my lure and there was 3 sunnies and 2 crappies staring at my bait. Watching them on the camera my lure reading would disapear when they got about an inch and a half away usally this would happen just before they flaired their gulls and sucked it in
Terry
I think I talked to those same guys when I first went out they said about 6 inches but when I drilled my holes it wasn’t anywhere near that. By the way fishing was pretty goodgot about 20 crappies and sunfish asmall northern and a largemouth in about 3 hoursTerry
I was out on Carls Lake just south of Prior on Sat. there was about 3.5 inches of clear ice and about 1 inch of cloudy. I didnt feel that comfortable walking on that much ice.
