Still have an archery tag to fill….. not too hopeful. Been nothing on cameras for 3 weeks. Too warm, too much browse, too many lazy deer not moving…

I would be happy with 5 or 4 day home delivery service. Only makes sense given the decrease in mail volume and high cost of infrastructure. USPS will never be a “break even” or “profitable” agency, just common sense.
Troubled as the US postal service is, beats the hell out of Canada’s service. We were always given a bundle of mail to drop off at International Falls post office by the resort owner when we left Sioux Narrows – saved a good week.
December 1, 2023 at 9:02 am #2239424Most of the Big 10 Universities are in college towns and are not competing directly/in close proximity with NFL teams (Northwestern, Maryland, Rutgers, Minnesota exceptions). Tough to be the Big Dog in town when the Vikings play 3 miles away from the U.
Last Gopher National Championship 1960
1st Year MN Vikings NFL Team …… 1961
So why do Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State consistently have the top teams in the conference/nation?
December 1, 2023 at 8:21 am #22394042 guys fishing middle of Diamond Lake yesterday……(1 mile from Cabela’s in Rogers). don’t think so…..
Not s rock in sight.
By the way, that’s how the sport of curling started. An Irish man kicked a frozen cabbage north to see how far it would go. Guy from Scotland, being of frugal Scottish heritage, kept the cabbage and sent a rock back in return…
November 30, 2023 at 10:12 am #2239138I just wish I could find a pair of jeans that don’t keep dropping down at the waist …..
November 29, 2023 at 8:39 am #2238809Only problem with Brosmer is 1 year of eligibility. Even if he makes it through 2024 season without injury, still leaves the program w/o something to build on.
MBB team has a long way to go to be competitive in the conference, but fun watching a bunch of MN kids playing out there.
November 13, 2023 at 9:21 pm #2235670Read this thread as I need gutters this fall…. amazing how many horror stories I’ve heard from friends/neighbors re: lousy gutter installation.
Had a new garage door installed last summer… took 2 full doors to come up with 5 good panels to make an 8′ door.
Concrete poured for new garage floor…. had to rip out the entire floor as it scaled from front to back.
How is anybody making any money when there is so many issues/problems/rework.
November 7, 2023 at 10:20 am #2234538Fun weekend in Milwaukee…. not a lot of fish in the boat, but then we didn’t get on the water before 10:00 either morning. Had best luck next to the bridge casting diving cranks and spinner baits. Tough fishing outside the breakwater, pretty lumpy.
Smoked a couple of fish – not bad….not bad at all.
Stayed at a VRBO outside of town and this dude walked into the yard at 7:30am to munch on apples.

September 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #2226436Thanks for the feedback.
Don’t have room on lot for a large propane tank; don’t even know where I would set an upright 100LB tank, what code is for plumbing into the garage, or cost of installing/venting a propane heater. Sounds like it would be worth checking out. If I can run propane at $3.00 or less per gallon and use 100# each winter as Grouse stated above (23 Gallons X $3.00), that’s pretty attractive. Moving and refilling a 100# tank is also a pain in the rump.
Only know my son lives in ND where everything is electric and his electric heater works well for him without breaking the bank. Keeps his ’70 BOSS 302 and ’53 Ford F100 nice and cozy and easy to work on.
Again, if it’s below zero, not going to boil the ocean and heat the garage.
September 25, 2023 at 9:18 pm #2226217Denny,
Can you share the make/model of the unit you put in?
Thanks

February 28, 2023 at 7:30 pm #2185204Give the ole` girl some oil in the little hole on the top.
Denny, I had to think twice about what/who you were referring to above……
Darned if it didn’t work!
Thanks

February 24, 2023 at 1:16 pm #2184266Stayed at Glendalough this fall…nice experience as my FW doesn’t want to tent camp any more, but we enjoy hiking the parks.
I’m curious about what’s available on the north shore as well.

February 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm #2179694Might run through the drive thru line for a “senior coffee”, usually ask for 2 cups as it’s darn near impossible to drive and drink through the lid without spilling or burning something.
Saving the world two cups at a time.
February 1, 2023 at 10:48 am #2178089Bought a few Flame 500’s for the grandkids…..work great and no issues.

January 19, 2023 at 7:21 am #2174680Great memories as a kid of being tossed in a snowbank by my uncle after sitting in Pat & Helmi Marttila’s sauna on their farm outside Embarrass. Pat and my uncle would have a few 16 oz cans of Hamm’s, conversed in Finn, and I was as close to the floor as I could get due to the heat.
Many years ago, but still can remember the smell of cedar, birch branches and wood fire..
December 28, 2022 at 5:46 pm #2169985Korkers ever go on sale? I My Irish Setters w/ 800 grams insulation are finally leaking after 15 years.
December 27, 2022 at 7:47 pm #2169758Like camping in Alaska with all the rental RVs. They all have to fire up their generators all hours of the day and night.
Or fishing next to wheelhouses that run generators all day/night……
December 27, 2022 at 4:47 pm #2169705Is a “quiet” generator outside powering a portable electric heater a better option for overnight camping?
December 13, 2022 at 8:38 pm #2166249I’m going to take a chance on the Piscifun Flame 500 for $19. Have one of their larger reels and like it.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Copied the photo while wasting time on the internet.
Merry Christmas everyone.
