Joel – I spliced my power cord to the marcum shuttle with heat shrink tubing. That way I didnt have to buy the adapter and dont have additional cords to get hung up on my transducer cable. See pics for clarification.
If you are worried about cost you could make your own by buying a HDPE sheet (est. $45-50) of plastic from Menards and cut your own runners. Plus you will have alot left over for another project.
interested in hearing what people have to say as I experienced some issues myself. Found it awkward to unwind the cable while holding the unit using the strap in the back. Also, and this is my own fault, but I damn near dropped the thing down the hole a few times last year. Think the issue was it can be awkward to unwind the cable while using the neck chord. im sure there are some better techniques I can use that will help
Exactly what im shooting for. Thanks for clarifying.
Uffdapete and Mr Pike – thanks for following up on an old thread. I ended up selling the strikemaster chipper auger and purchasing a kdrill at the Ice show last year and a Dewalt 996. Have nothing but positive things to say with my purchase so far.
Curious if Kdrill has a booth and if they are offering any deals?
Sorry I am bit late, but Marine General had a 20% discount on their K-Drills (as well as everything else) and since I used cash I was able to get another 5% off of the 8″.
Thanks guys, wanted to get in a bit earlier due to other time constraints in the afternoon. Just didn’t want to stand around all morning waiting for the regular hours.
