Thats what I was afraid of. Looks like I will have a Helix12 for sale soon
October 30, 2018 at 7:32 am #1806615It says it is i Pilot link compatible. Ill play with it more. Im really more interested to know if I need the Helix at the bow. Can I sell it and just go with a panoptix unit and not lose any function? I know that I wont be able to see waypoints on the Garmin unit that are marked on the console Helix, but that isnt a big deal for me.
October 29, 2018 at 2:28 pm #1806503Do you have the Lakemaster chip installed??? It’s required to “follow the contour”
Yes I do
October 29, 2018 at 10:05 am #1806422So far I have been using the Helix 12 (console unit) to run the I link.
October 22, 2018 at 11:06 am #1805086Took my new wx 2190 for its maiden voyage this past weekend. Man what a beast. 30-40 mph winds on Saturday made for tough fishing, but a great day to see what this boat can do. Im beyond impressed with this boat.

I put a deposit on a new 2017 WX 2190!!!! It comes with Helix 12 at dash and Helix 9 at bow all linked to I-Link. I’m going to remove the rear rails and put on a track system. I can’t wait. I’ll post a few pics once I get herCongratulations! Sounds great – what color? I just picked mine up this weekend (new to me).
Scott
I’m not sure what the official color code is, but its a mix of red, black, and white. I may not be deer hunting much this fall now

September 19, 2018 at 1:12 pm #1798405Thank you. That is all incredibly helpful. How often are you guys using the I link with the Humminbirds? I’ve never seen it used as I’ve had Lowrance units. Would a boat with Lowrance units be a deal breaker for you guys that have used this feature before?
I don’t need to follow strict contour lines on L. Michigan, but I may on other lakes. Looks like I can get into a slightly used 2017,2018 with all the bells and whistles for about what a new from dealer 2017 goes for($67K). Tough call, but right now I’m leaning towards the used models that are all set up. It’s tough to find a color that I like, but I suppose I have to compromise somewhereJanuary 10, 2018 at 5:15 pm #1743072Thanks for all the help guys. Ill look into all of your suggestions. Im taking my 8 year old with me. Dont care what we catch, just as long as we catch.
September 26, 2016 at 11:16 am #1641689I’m headed up to pasha on Tuesday.
Awesome!! Have a great time James.
September 25, 2016 at 5:33 pm #1641549A bit late with my trip report. Fishing at Pasha Lake Cabins was amazing as it always is. Made the best out of only a 3 day trip. Fished 3 different lakes with all different patterns. We hammered fish every day on jig/minnow from 8′-35′. Onaman was the highlight, and it didnt disappoint. We boated over 80 fish, and were only able to bring back 2 to eat that night….yep all the rest were in the slot limit,18-28″. Biggest was 27″, with most fish measuring around 24″. We were just as excited to catch the 2, 17 inchers as we were the big ones. Cant wait to go back next year.

May 6, 2016 at 10:53 am #1617729Thanks for all the solid advice fellas…I will definitely apply your recommendations. I only have 3 days of actual fishing. Praying for good weather.
May 2, 2016 at 8:38 pm #1616991I agree with Chuck on this. I fish Kenosha just about every week. If I don’t sleep on the boat, I stay at the best Western on the harbor. Parking lot isn’t huge but will fit a boat as long as it’s not too busy. Otherwise, back to the interstate for a cheaper place with ample parking. Cohos should start soon!!
July 30, 2015 at 10:36 am #1557155Thanks guys!! I’ll report when I get back. I’ll have to give crawlers/leeches a shot. Usually only used shiners up there.
July 30, 2015 at 8:28 am #1557123Why does it matter that he’s a dentist? What does that have to do with it?
July 28, 2015 at 2:30 pm #1556808Hey Joe….I keep my boat docked in Kenosha and fish L. Michigan every week. Even on calm days, it can get ugly quick when you’re offshore. Make sure you watch weather and have a quality marine radio. My boat is much larger than yours, and I will not go out if there’s a N or NE wind greater than 5mph. You can fish up to 10mph in a big boat, but its not fun. West winds are fine, while a stiff 15+mph from south or south east can make a rough day. Keep in mind that the waves on Michigan are not the same as on smaller inland lakes. The troughs can be long and very deep.
That being said, typically in the summer months the weather/wind is somewhat predictable. Have fun!!
July 28, 2015 at 8:20 am #1556714I purchased a K2 cooler last year and love it. One bag of ice will last all weekend in the sun with plenty to spare. You have to cool the cooler down before you fill it, however.
May 12, 2014 at 2:08 pm #1409879I soak the planks for a few hours, and then lay the fillets right on top over medium high heat. It smokes like crazy for about 5-10 minutes while they’re cooking. I buy planks from the grilling section of big box stores. I know you can buy cedar much cheaper from the lumber dept, but I’m just not sure if they treat the wood with any strange chemicals so I play it safe.

Yes please give more information on prices and stuff. Also are Sows Illegal to shoot or just frowned on shooting. haven’t hunted bear yet [/quote
Im sure Chad is swamped with fishing guests and now hunting guests. If you go to Pasha Lakes website you’ll find all the info you need. I bear hunted up there 2 years ago and it was awesome. Hope to go for number 2 next year.
August 8, 2013 at 1:39 pm #1188516I run dipsys all spring and summer with braid. I use 10′(2 piece) Ugly Stiks with heavy action. Depending on the size of dipsy and the amount of line out, there is a tremendous amount of pull on the rod. Then wait for a big King to smack it .
As already stated, longer rods will keep the bait away from the boat as well. You’re not looking for a fancy handle here, just a good stout rod. A quality rod holder is also necesary. Don’t use the plastic holders that you’re trolling with for walleye.
August 5, 2013 at 11:38 pm #1187793James,
Shoot me a pm before you guys head to L Michigan if you want. I spend a lot of time out of Kenosha and Milwaukee. I’d be happy to tell you what I know at that point in time(not that you need it).
JustinAugust 5, 2013 at 3:28 pm #1187615Very nice!! Been a few weeks since I was last out on L. Michigan. Kings are finally starting to show up Been a slow season for Kings. Maybe I need to make the trip to Superior for big lakers.
August 5, 2013 at 3:25 pm #1187616I just got back this past weekend. Overall, fishing was good. Classic Rainy patterns….fish were on the reefs and mainlake breaklines. 26-33fow. Fished mostly with jig/shiner or chub. However, did catch fish on Slow Death and Lindy Rigs. Word around camp was that everyone was using different baits(leeches, crawlers, shiners) and all were catching fish.
Had a hard time catching fish for shore lunch…too many fish in the slot. I actually caught myself complaining about catching too many big fish, and not enough eaters
