Won’t be any issues / AIS inspectors once all the lakes are considered infested

Drift sock. On my Tracker without a sock I can get down to 2.1 mph, with the sock out I can get .7 mph. Quick, easy to use and no modifications to the motor.

8 pound is all I fish with. Saves wear and tear on the gunnels and has very little blowback when fishing less than 50 feet.

Don’t have any pics available right now but I have a pair of Lake Masters on the 16′ Tracker. THe LM’s have a bolt on mounting plate I put on the gunnels that allows you to remove the downrigger when you do not need it.

The Other option I seriously considered was the 2 x 6 plank across the stern but this option worked out to be cleaner for my rig.

Units are manual, not terribly expensive but work just fine for what I do an how much I get to fish

Have an ’01, 50hp Merc on a 16 foot Tracker. Trolls about 2.5 on the GPS. I have tossed out a drift sock and now get.8 mph on the GPS. Granted – a little bit of a pain to do but very reliable and I do not have to mess with the factory carb settings.

Take the I-90 to Millwaukee turnoff at Madison to avoid the tollway at least to downtown Chicago. There is one toll on the I-90 route, lots less traffic and headaches. On another note – get the I-pass, much faster traveling.

Ammo Crafter in Minnetonka, county Road 61 just north of Excelsior Blvd. Talk to Ron Becker – has everything you will need as well as good advice.

Yep – cat scent will help keep mice away. Had one show up about two months ago in the basement when the wife left the door between the house and garage open. Cat played with it for about 15 minutes. Mouse vanished – has not be back since.

Don’t have a Ranger but have always used the technique where you just get the front step of the trailer (on the front edge of the wheel)just a couple of inches below the surface of the water. This will leave a little bit of the front of the bunk (about 15″ on my trailer) out of the water. I am able to drive the boat up to within about 18″ of the stop, then crank it up the rest of the way. If you back in too deep you run the risk of floating over the side bunk guide-on’s and hanging up or floating off the side of the trailer.
