My kids have grown, but just wanted to say that you doing an awesome thing for these kids! Not enough people in the world like you to offer up something so generous as to allow, much less take a kid hunting on your land.

Ya I was thinking the same thing. You insult the people that shop walmart about how terrible they are. Then you admit shopping there yourself. What does that say about you then. For the record we do a lot of shopping at walmart (wish it wasn’t as much as it but). Not always our first choice but living in the area we do, we don’t have a ton of choices either.[/quote]
I’m thinking he may have meant the stereotype from this site – https://www.peopleofwalmart.com/
July 22, 2021 at 8:50 am #2049771Yesterday some 20yo kids ran out of gas on their Sea Doos in Prescott, No wallet.
Ran into them at gas station when i was buying worms, they wanted to exchange cash for Venmo. I said i’ll do you one better, hang out on the dock for 25 minutes and i’ll be there with gas.
I ran home, got the boat with a spare can, and filled them doo’s up Free of charge. They made it back to Hudson….I’m a walmart shopper.
Save money and help others out.
No, never bought used oil in a new oil container.

Fire blight. I typically do not spray for this as it’s not nearly as effective as pruning out the infected branches.
May 5, 2021 at 1:51 pm #2034865What brands of inflatables are you guys wearing? Considering going this route over the foam ones.
March 19, 2021 at 6:18 pm #2023472Don’t want to hijack this thread – but anyone k own how the river is north of Mankato?
February 16, 2021 at 9:29 am #2015295Can you guys post up a good picture of the proper way to handle these fish? I occasionally pull one up while catfishing, would be nice to know the proper way. Thanks!

October 20, 2020 at 5:08 pm #1981067So with a little free time and some scrap metal I ended up making these. 1/2” thread on both. One is all 1/2” the other is 3/8”. They are adjustable for any angle I want. Wrapped them with a rubber tape. I’d prefer to dip them in plastidip, but for now they should do the job.

Fish Blood – How do those compare to Fishbite? You’ll find endless possibilities with “Black River Tools” aka Driftmaster. From various rod holder angles to mounting options to Trees, etc. Left hand threads on port side of boat and Right hand threads on starboard. They have two sizes, i run the bigger beefier 1/2″ threads.
There have been a few spinoffs over the years, never heard of FishBite but Monster does make a comparable one.
I personally run the Pro Duos and have 12 on my boat.
Made of SST they’re bulletproof!
When ran on trees (round tubes) you have infinite angle adjustments and rotations of course are 360 degrees.
All rod butts are outside the boat freeing up space in the boat. Who buys a 12′ rod to have 18″ of butt in the boat. With driftmaster you ‘ve got the most rod outside the boat you can possibly have.If your handy like red/green, you can make your own bases or trees for cheap too.
And, all the driftmaster rod holders are less expensive than that cheap poop called Scotty or folbe. Thanks for the reply. Do you ever get up to the dam in Hastings? If you see me sitting out there stop by and say hi – I’m in a red and white Crestliner. I run between the dam and Prescott quite a bit.
September 30, 2020 at 2:36 pm #1976296Haven’t tried heated socks. I have the heated insoles, a pair of Thermacells and they have worked great for me.
September 28, 2020 at 8:03 am #1975726Thought it appropriate to make a video Saturday of how i prepare my Sheepshead cut bait for flathead catfish.
I’ll use anything from 8″ up to 18″ sheepshead on 8/0 circle hooks.
<div class=”ido-oembed-wrap”><iframe title=”Sheepshead cut bait for Flathead catfish” width=”850″ height=”478″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/XX6bg4jbxds?feature=oembed” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen=””></iframe></div>
There is no bait too big for flatheads. When using Cut bait, I find size matters. Thanks Fishblood – I actually came across this video on youtube before looking at any forums on catfishing. Landed a few nicer cats using cutbait after watching! I run quite a bit from the dam in Hastings down to Prescott – I’m in a red and white Crestliner, if you see me out there stop by and say hi!
September 26, 2020 at 9:54 am #1975465Thanks Fellas. I’ve been trying to stick to the slower side of current seams – if I can see them….
