I am buying a new boat and was offered the Platinum protection plan as an upgrade for $600 from my dealer. This essentially extends the manufacturer warranty from 3 years to 5 years. Figured for that amount of money it was worth it, and this was on a Verado motor.

Yep. That was a good buy, especially with that supercharger.

The more I think about it, the less inclined I am to buy into this later in the game. I took great care to break in the motors correctly and am careful in the maintenance of them and no issues so far. If there was an ongoing issue or hint of a problem then maybe. If something does break, I’m financially stable enough to pay the bill. A bit like gambling I suppose.

Yeah, the contract exclusion list is quite long and mentions abuse, neglect, lack of specified maintenance, etc etc.

Thx for your reply. I don’t go in for the warranty scams either and they push em at you for everything nowadays. Just have to give it some thought I guess. The offer is good until june.

Last weekend there was a good 10″ all the way across to the channel against the MN bluff and quite a ways up river but there’s always a chance of a thin spot. Fishing was slow, a 17″ sand pike was all I got.

Anyone buy that marcum underwater panning camera a few years back that they discontinued right away and wouldn’t repair? There were many problems with water getting into the camera pod so they gave up on it. Unfortunately, I was a victim of that one…

Was wondering the same thing so I drove down to Maiden Rock yesterday to scope out the situation. Nothing and nobody out there at all so I chickened out and went home.
