There is an AmericInn in Long Lake which is very close to Lake Minnetonka. It’s should be pretty easy to get to also, just keep going west on 394 past 494 for about 10 miles. The lake is only 5 minutes south of there.

Thanks for the input. I didn’t think about looking for a combo deal. Then I could always junk the boat or donate it somewhere. Good thinking. Thanks.

I feel your pain. I live on Lake Minnetonka. Monday through Thursday it is great, but Friday through Sunday it is an entirely different experience.

Hey Mike, didn’t get any Walleyes this weekend at the Float but don’t let that discourage you. Most of the time we get some. I did get some good sized Northerns, quite a few Sauger, a couple little cats and all kinds of Sheephead. I think it was way too bright for the Walleyes. Probably would have done better later at night than during the day. Also would have done better if you could keep the Sheepies off your line. Almost every cast brought one in for a couple hours, didn’t matter if you threw a minnow on a hook or a jig they would grab it.

There are some early in the morning and later at night. At night I throw Rapalas and in the morning I throw blue jigs. During the day I get a lot of Sauger in that area. I haven’t been there in a couple months so I can’t give you an updated report but I am going this weekend so I can fill you in after the trip.

Better watch out, with the new gun laws in Minnesota that cat might be packin’ too.

We were in Alma fishing Sunday afternoon using crawlers. We couldn’t keep the Suckers off our lines. We caught three within the first couple minutes of being there. They were biting very soft though so you have to keep the pole in your hand and feel for the slightest change or tap. Amazingly we only got one Sheephead.

Great points. Another one that really gets me is when someone catches a fish that they are not necessarily fond of and they “launch” them back into the water instead of just releasing them. Each fish should be respected for the catch not the flesh.
