I am a data driven person and there is no data to support the idea that the cameras reduce accidents. All the cameras do is take money from people who don’t live in the area and put it into the local government coffers.
Is there data to support that speeding is good? Just seems like entitlement to me.
A while back on the news they said that no NFL player had a criminal charge in a year-this was newsworthy!
It helps when they get caught commiting crimes but they get a pass cause they’re rich and famous. Noted rapist Deshaun Watson was just telling the media how the 25+ women he sexually assaulted was just a narrative they made up. Antonio Brown committed a whole pile of crimes but managed to somehow not actually face any repercussions for any of them.
All the people saying Addison going 140 mph is no big deal must have forgotten about Jeff Gladney and Henry Ruggs? Wasn’t that long ago but one killed himself and his passenger and the other killed a young woman and her dog. Seemed fairly serious to them.
Isn’t “management” thrown around pretty loosely here?
As mentioned, I’d like to see the effectiveness of this so called “management”. Christmas lake was a failure. Any shiny spots to make people think more money would actually help?
Suppose these studies peoples get to keep working…..
Christmas Lake that they tried for years to make private suddenly became “public” once they realized the yuppies infected their own lake. Stuff like that makes me wonder if they just want a slush fund to try and fix lakes for the type of people who could afford to pay for it themselves but would rather steal public money? Lake associations are absolutely out of control in this state, constantly looking for new ways to push normal people off “their lake.”
Just kinda sad that a team that was far more talented than us to begin with gained a former MVP and a former Cy Young winner and we end up with the scraps and we still had to give up a decent pitching prospect just to get him. Classic Twins going for that cheap contract though.
I just bought wax worms from Carver FF gas station cause I didn’t figure it was worth the walk all the way through the store cause I knew they wouldn’t have anything else I wanted.
Do you get 33% less for $1 more like they do with nightcrawlers? The Carver one was out of craw jig trailers for 2 years at one point. Removing the military surplus stuff for groceries no one buys was another brilliant move too. It seems to me like they’re actively trying to go out of business.
I give the non thc hemp oil to my dog and he sleeps a lot more. It also has melatonin as an ingredient. I think that’s doing something but the hemp oil is snake oil.
You could just buy melatonin for much cheaper and get the exact same results. A lot of the defense of these snake oils(CBD, essential oils, etc) is because people have spent so much on them they don’t want to admit they wasted their money.
I would personally like to see someone do videos that focus on high pressure metro lakes. I am tired of seeing Mille lacs, LOTW, Devils, Red…it’s no surprise these are fish factories. Let’s see someone catch fish around shanty town on the croix, or on Tonka, Prior, cedar, forest. These aren’t precious unknown gems that you have to protect their identity. Let’s see someone master these spots.
Drill holes until you mark fish and then drop a lure down. What are you having trouble with? Yes, they usually won’t be great size but what do you expect with minimal effort and following the bucket brigade? Every once in a while someone runs in to a giant fishing the shantytowns but with thousands of hours put in these community holes of course a couple decent fish actually get caught.

You seem to think most of us on here are complete idiotsDont at all mean to come off that way, I just have a very, very differing opinion on just about everything baseball than everyone else around here. I’m quite confident in my baseball knowledge and get frustrated when people dont agree with me lol. Sorry about it!!
Speedhawk? Is that you?
That’s why its so sad to see adults keep making excuses for the greedy ownership. Like do they honestly not notice they keep getting this hamster wheel of excuses? Either they “just miss” on the free agents and claim they’ll totally get them next time or they push it back saying they’ll be active in trading once the team proves it can compete. Yet nothing ever happens and still you have these people desperately trying to rationalize why its not a big deal that once again the team took the cheap route.
Could be something special. Hopefully ap isn’t a part of it.
No such luck. Really hard to get excited for season 2 now.
Pretty sure wormdunker nailed it. No idea why they thought it was a good idea to price it so high, it is much lower quality than similarly priced items from other companies.
When you’re rich and trying to block the public from “your” lake, you don’t ask if what you’re doing is legal or ethical, you just do it and then throw money around if you get in trouble. Their dear leader shoots geese that would dare attempt to enter “his” lake, seasons and licenses don’t apply to these type of people in their sick minds.
You realize those trades were possible because of all the extra picks Vegas got because of the ridiculous expansion draft rules, right tswoboda? You’re kind of helping them make their point…
” I think they’re finally experiencing financial loss because it became painfully obvious that Dick’s doesn’t actually have any sort of moral stance against guns, they just wanted to exploit some tragedies for financial gain by virtue signalling.”
Read that again.
Do u really believe DICKS missed out on 150 million dollars worth of yoga pants and Jordans because people believe what you have stated here, and are taking a stand?
The first 2 times they used this shameless PR stunt they probably saw an increase in sales from the “woke” crowd. The third time they tried releasing a big announcement for the exact same thing I believe the people who fell for it the first 2 times finally realized Dicks was exploiting their emotions following a tragedy. This is the first time I’ve seen anyone claim they lost money due to these PR stunts so it stands to reason that it worked the first 2 times.
I don’t hate DICKS.
Fishing selection is mediocre but no store has what I would consider a comprehensive selection.I applaud them for standing up for something they believe in- even in the face of financial loss
This is actually the third time they’ve announced they are stopping selling these guns. The first time they pulled this PR move after a mass shooting they shifted the sales to the Field and Stream stores. Apparently the first time must have seen a spike in sales because they then made a second announcement a year or so later after another mass shooting I believe, but it turned out they were just doing it in a few stores. Then they made a third announcement a few months after that. I think they’re finally experiencing financial loss because it became painfully obvious that Dick’s doesn’t actually have any sort of moral stance against guns, they just wanted to exploit some tragedies for financial gain by virtue signalling.
Selling Coyle off for nothing is like playing the stock market and buying high and selling low. It’s completely backwards. Nobody is going to give them jack crap for Coyle, the whole league knows he’s under performing. We keep giving up to much and having to sweeten everyone else’s tea. These constant lopsided deals are killing the teams future. Just be barely good enough to scratch and claw into the playoffs is killing draft picks. The formula the wild have sucks and will continue to suck unless something drastically changes.
On almost the 7 year anniversary of trading Brent Burns for Setoguchi, Coyle and a draft pick(Phillips who bounced around the AHL then Sweden and now plays in a league in the UK) the Wild now likely have to throw even more away to get rid of Coyle. What a horrible trade, Fletcher absolutely blew that one. How Chuck kept his job that long was incredible.
They picked a guy universally ranked in the 50s at 24. Another small Scandinavian too. Their sales pitch is that he’ll grow up to be Brodin. Either way it seems like they could have traded back and still gotten him and an extra pick. Not exactly something that’s going to generate a ton of excitement. Some people think the plan was to draft the Minnetonka kid and when he got picked right before us, we panicked and picked a secound round talent. I wonder if the GM search took so long that they didn’t have the draft board fully fleshed out, who knows though?
In Towne Marina said that Waconia is now clear. I drove by the Gray’s Bay launch on Tonka last night and there were about 4-5 trailers in the lot, most of the bay was open as well as a bit of Wayzata Bay.
The only news about Christmas Lake is when they pay the local stations to run propaganda pieces to pretend like its a public lake so that the general public doesn’t get upset that tax money is going towards a “private” lake. I’d be willing to bet that the experimental treatments we paid a ton for didn’t work and they’re trying to avoid embarrassment after they proudly declared during one of the puff pieces that it had worked and then they ended up trying another method because it didn’t actually work.
What’s the big deal? Some girls wanna do stuff that the boys get to in boy scouts? Why not let them in? Like, who cares? Can anyone actually come up with something truly negative about a girl being in a boy scout troop?
I do like the, “don’t like the normal girl scout activities? Well go start your own national program by yourself for your daughter you lazy slob!” comments though. What? You work full time to support your family? What do you mean you don’t have time to start a unique program for all of the country’s 9-18 year old girls who are interested in outdoor activities, you’re such a bum. Why didn’t you do that Randy!
Well you might have heard about all the sexual harassment stuff that’s been in the news lately, right? The Troop Leaders already have a tough job, and as you kinda pointed out(except you forgot that the organizers also have jobs) they also work full time to support their families, and bringing girls in is going to force them all to take additional training as well as open up the possibility of new lawsuits/bad things happening. The people that want to force the people already doing a thankless job into doing more thankless work seem to be forgetting that those Troop Leaders are people too and they already volunteer their time and energy for the kids.

I was there yesterday to buy a TH Marine Troll Tamer and of course they didn’t have it.If I need to see something in person before buying, I almost always check online anymore to make sure a store has it in stock before taking a drive to get something.
Cabela’s has this and you can select any store you want as your “home” store, and check at other stores too. Home Depot is especially good at this, they’ll even tell you what aisle and bin number the item is in; saves a lot of time wandering around the store staring at shelves!
The website’s accuracy is pretty questionable. I’ve had several times where it says something is available and I drive to the store only to find that it is not actually available. The other day I went for a baitfeeder reel and the employee refused to even acknowledge that the size reel their website said was available at the store even existed despite me showing him that it did on my phone. The website also listed another baitfeeder as being available that they either couldn’t find or wasn’t actually there.
The only pair of Keens I’ve ever owned had the final eyelet made of plastic and it literally broke off the second or third time I tied the shoes. I exchanged them for a different brand that had metal eyelets.

Rubberduck, Maybe you can join the Scouts…You seem kind of childish with your name calling. It is called Gender Equality and it’s about time….Gender equality!???
Just call them like I see them! I think there is a reason its called “boy scouts”.I bet you firmly believe in “participation” trophies too!
So change the name. Girls scouts is fine for some people but really they are focused on cookie sales and generating money for the organization. If you have a daughter who want’s to learn and participate in outdoor activities like the boy scouts do they are pretty much up a creek.
The scout leader for my sons troop is a female and nobody bats an eye at that. My daughter is 3 and is in dance class but I can almost guarantee she will be signed up for boyscouts because she loves the outdoors, camping, fishing, etc.
But yes they should change the name to Outdoor Adventure Scouts or something like that.
It’s funny how snowflakey all you tough guys are about this.
Why do you insist on trivializing the volunteer efforts of the troop leader by saying that all she is contributing is teaching them cookie sales? Does your son in Boy Scouts not have to sell wreaths and popcorn at outrageous prices like all the other Boy Scout troops across America? For some reason you’re still capable of finding a meaning in Boy Scouts, but Girl Scouts doing the same thing is awful why? Comes across as sexist and pretty insulting to those of us actually thinking about the issue.
While I believe $100k to spend on a survey is ridiculous. Like I said on the first page of this post maybe he is trying to represent the people who voted him in. I would find it very interesting to find out how the average joe fisherman feels about this subject.
It looks like they’ve included Majkrzak(the guy from North Dakota with a giant cabin on Pelican Lake who claims there are no walleyes or panfish left in Pelican Lake) who is obviously anti-musky, Majkrzak’s friend(the Ottertail County Commissioner) who is also already anti-musky and someone from the chamber of commerce who will likely also be anti-musky. I’m sure these people will be generously compensated for their time with our money(nice of Ingebrigtsen to pay them back for the donations he got from them by giving them back our money, doesn’t reek of cronyism at all). Guess they didn’t think it was important to actually include someone with a scientific background or anyone who is interested in fishing. Makes perfect sense to leave a convicted poacher in charge of dictating environmental policy…
My guess is that once the results of the survey come in to Mr. Ingebrigtsen, he’ll once again wallow in denial and claim that the survey was biased and that we should spend another couple hundred thousand doing a new survey. You know, the exact same way he rejects the scientific studies that don’t support his claim that muskies eat everything in a lake. It will be more wasted money and we’ll be right back to where we started. People like Ingebrigtsen and Majkrzak can’t be reasoned with, they will keep wasting time, money and resources until no one wants to argue with them any longer.
I don’t mean to thread jack this thread so one quick answer will do, but myself and a buddy started <em class=”ido-tag-em”>muskie fishing for the first time last fall. Started by using ploppers and bucktails. Then when it got cold, pulled suckers. We used wire leaders the whole time. I was under the impression that you pretty much always needed that wire leader so you wouldn’t get broken off? Are the benefits of fluoro just better action on the lures?
Something else not mentioned is when a pike or musky gator rolls and wraps itself in line. If you’re using fluoro the damage to the fish is usually minimal, but with wire that’s going to leave a massive scar on the fish at the very least.
A drawback to fluoro is that on lakes like Minnetonka that are covered in zebra mussels you can get your leader knicked up just hitting a rock or ripping through weeds before you ever get any kind of fish. I still think the benefits of fluoro outweigh the drawbacks though. If you’re on Facebook, Pete Maina just did a video about leaders you might be interested in too.

Fleet Farm has similar things that are round and slide over an existing seat post.I believe you are talking about this: https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/fishing-rod-retainer-fishing-rod-retainer-caddy/0000000222317?bc=10417|10433
Unfortunately that hole in the middle is not large enough for many of the popular size seat posts to pass through.
Interesting, I think mine was soft rubber around the area that goes over the seat post but it looks like that one is solid plastic although that is definitely the same company. The description also seems to no longer suggest that it was designed to go onto a seatpost, now they claim a dock. Maybe they changed it for some reason. My buddy’s boat is a Warrior from the 90s so maybe his has really thin posts, no idea, but it works great if it fits over your posts.
