Thanks Jack. Just got off the phone with Bill. Looks like I’ll be back on the pond this weekend. It will be done Thursday at lunch, only $40 to boot.
October 6, 2010 at 12:58 am #902738I had a similar experience this spring. I wasn’t in a hurry like you, and I had my order in less than 48 hours. I’ll be back for more in the future.

July 28, 2009 at 1:31 am #793512Nice job Wallster. Good report. Hope to see you up there again, soon. I’m “Jonesing” for some ‘eyes.
July 13, 2009 at 2:44 am #790036I too have problems with Lowrance customer support. It takes a minimum of 25 minutes to get through to them by phone. It takes over a week for an email inquiry. And if you want to order a transducer from them they are back ordered for over 2 weeks. Lowrance is GARBAGE and will never see another nickel from me. When my latest transducer goes, and it will, I am going with Humminbird.
RIP Lowrance. Your little secret is out. Your customer service sucks. We here in MN are used to great customer service with the likes of Strikemaster, Everts, Maynards Tackle, profishingsupply.com, and many others. These all have same day service. And if you order on line the product is on my doorstep in 2 days.
I am spreading the word to all my fishing friends. Stay away from Lowrance.
July 5, 2009 at 6:39 pm #788407Chase Parsons uses these cranks A LOT. He’s been known to catch an ‘eye or two.
July 2, 2009 at 3:02 am #787999Typical Minnesota pro team. They all just sit on butts doing nothing. This town is a sewer of mediocrity.
July 1, 2009 at 1:29 am #787713Hit the St. Louis for sure. It is full of walleyes, smallmouth, muskies, and yes catfish. You can put in near the HWY 23 bridge for smallmouth and ‘eyes. (Very close to Jay Cooke) Or head a little further down the road and put in at the Smithville public access.(You can’t miss the sign) Go either up or down river from Smithville. Fish the “lake” areas near the channel. You won’t be disappointed.
PM me for some spots if you like. Tremendous fishery. I used to live in Gary for 7 years.
June 19, 2009 at 8:26 am #785137Check out a lake called Opitz. It’s about 8-10 miles north of Webster and west of Hwy 25. You will catch 50-100, yes, that’s right, walleyes per PERSON, not per boat. They will all be 14-15 7/8″ long. The minimum size slot on the lake is 16″. And the limit is only 2 fish. I fished the lake 3 days last summer, while working in Aberdeen, and never caught less than 50 walleyes in just a few hours of fishing. The ticket for me was fatheads and slip bobbers on the outside edge of the flooded timber in the northern section of the lake. Usually in 6-9′ of water. It’s a blast. I got sick of catching so many and started cranking to try and catch some bigger fish. But I soon returned to the timber. The locals also catch them from shore using minnows and bobbers or shad raps.
Make sure you bring plenty of minnows. You won’t be disappointed.
This is a great lake to fish if the larger lakes are too windy- which is most of the time.
Have fun. PM me if you’d like some spots.
ThJune 14, 2009 at 10:07 am #783924Sounds like a new revenue stream for big brother.
Why would you want this in MN?

May 6, 2009 at 8:58 pm #774459Thanks for the info Jason. I just ordered the 797c si from profishingsupply!
May 6, 2009 at 2:48 am #774244I just moved my shack up to Barnacles 3 weeks ago. I’ll be on the sand from Barnacles to Fisher’s as well. Maybe Myr Mar at night with the cranks.
I’m in the barn shaped 2-story, stop in and say hi.
May 6, 2009 at 2:07 am #774217It very well might be your transducer. If you cannot find one at a dealer good luck dealing with Lowrance. You WILL sit on hold for at least 25-30 minutes every time you call. They don’t even have the transducers in stock.
HORRIBLE customer service. The worst I have ever dealt with. Its Humminbird for me from now on.

April 8, 2009 at 10:12 pm #766876I heard that late last week a guy was driving his 4-wheeler ON cove bay of Mille Lacs. He went through in 4′ of water. He had ice piks but still couldn’t get out. He then called his wife, who then called 911 for help. They used a hover craft to get him. Guy then spends some time in the hospital.
When he gets out the cops gave him a DWI.
Bummer. At least he got out.
April 8, 2009 at 9:51 pm #766872I’m SURE our military will go and speak to these scumbags with kid gloves on. Obama will not respond militarily. This thing would already be resolved if it were January 17th.
Welcome to the woosification of America.
