    My brother and I were fishing late ice on Chequamegon Bay for perch. I thought I would go with some light line to see if it help the bite. The perch were on the bite, I lost my minnow and was reeling up to rebait when a 10 lb. salmon hit and never looked back. I watched my line and my bait Head for parts unknown. The fight lasted about seven seconds, what a rush.

    Nice mixed bag of fish, the bite out here has been slow. Considering the conditions you did well. I’ll be back out tommorow trying it.My mom is battling breast cancer and had a rough day due to chemo. Hung close to make sure she is OK. Few cohos, browns , caught today according to the fish checker. Hopfully it means a shift in the bite. Nice pics, and can’t argue with the catch for the conditions. the bay can be a cruel mistress.

    I had some issues with mine, turns out I put a little to much oil in when mixed the fuel. Ran rough, new mix cleared it up. I guess thats what I get for mixing feul in the dark.

    The ice on the bay is gone baby gone. went inland on sunday and had fair ice, but it was getting funky by the end of the day. I would think the ice is pretty ugly looking by now. The temps here are supposed to start getting colder on friday. If you are venturing out PLEASE BE CAREFULL, USE THE PRECATIONS AND COME BACK SAFE AND SOUND.Remember there are lots of fish, but only one of you.

    I have always relied on hit and miss knowledge of the water I fished in the past. With using the marcum in conjuction with knowledge, it gives you a whole new world of options. With that bieng siad, I bielive the ease of use and power for the money is unrivieled. Hope to get a marcum troller to use this year, Looks just the ticket for chasing giils crappie and perch. Be safe on the ice and may the fish be with you.

    Looking forward to the upcoming season with a vengence. I believe the hardwater bite this year is going to be excellent, I can’t wait til early inland ice. Thier are some killer lakes for gills, pike, and even some trout here in Beautiful Bayfield county.
