It’s a 1990 16′ Alumacraft Classic 16 with a 40hp. The trailer has leaf springs. It does not appear that the side walls will rub. The wider tread area has only about 1″ of clearance between the lip of the fender that is welded to the frame.
April 14, 2010 at 4:31 am #652125Is the leak on the center keel? My Alumacraft leaks a little on the center keel, took it to a aluminum boat repair guy and he told me that he would have drill out all the rivets from the leak up to the bow and then re-do them all. Very spendy $$$. A $3 tube of silicone caulk works great, but you will have to redo it every couple of years, on the down side the boat will be 300 years old before I spend more on caulk than the repair .
April 1, 2010 at 5:15 am #859585I can vouch that it is not a complete tree hugger, vegan group……they provide a free hot dog (yes real animal parts) and potato chips lunch.
March 30, 2010 at 3:24 am #858738I did the walk a few years ago with my wife and dog. This walk is not just for dogs it is for any animal the humane society will help. It’s a fun time, bring the family, I saw people on the walk with dogs, cats, pigs, goats, genie pigs, parrots and alligators.
January 31, 2010 at 5:29 am #838112Good job BK. I’ve never heard of anyone dieing from Nicotine Lozenges so if it works I’d keep on em’.
January 28, 2010 at 2:20 am #837216The JB water weld worked great. Held up over a weekend of hard use, that stuff is amazing!
January 21, 2010 at 5:02 am #834606James thanks for the advice. I stopped at my local Ace Hardware and they did not have that product. I wanted to get the auger going so I got some JB water weld and but that on the crack. It stuck well, I’m going to fill it with fuel tomorrow. I’ll post how it holds up.
I already called D-rock (I have heard good things about them) they were out and on back order also.
Strikemaster told me they had 200 back orders for the tank. Not strike masters fault that the tanks fail or are on back order it’s the engine manufactures fault.
January 11, 2010 at 12:14 am #696292I have the two man shack but i’ll chime in anyways. In my opinion it is a great shack for the money. My only complaint is that you can’t fold the bench seat up to store stuff under it when the canvas top is folded down in transport mode.
September 5, 2009 at 7:02 am #802758My golden retriever likes to cuddle up between the toilet and the tub.
August 13, 2009 at 2:15 am #797128Kind of sounds to me like the guy is a scammer! I’d call the guy from a different phone number then you’ve spoken with him in the past and record the call. Ask him for a quote on the same work you had done previously. I bet he will give you a quote closer to what he originally gave again. That would be great evidence in court or at least to call his scam and settle it out of court.
You may want to check the laws in WI on recording calls. In MN only one person in the conversation (you) needs to consent to a call being recorded.
Just my thought.
Good Luck
August 12, 2009 at 10:10 pm #55334Along with the different season dates between MN and WI you also need a small game license in WI to hunt crow. No license required in MN.
August 12, 2009 at 5:56 am #55239I’m planning to hunt crows seriously this year and have been researching and talking to some guys that hunt them on a regular basis. Here is some of what I have picked up.
Always shoot the first crow and every crow! Crows are smarter than one would think and once they have “busted” you or your set up, or shot at and missed a crow will sit out of shot gun range and warn other crows of you.You need to be camouflaged really well. As good as if not better than for waterfowl! Full camo, face masks and gloves a blind is great also.
As far as decoys and set ups check out this site- http://www.crowbusters.com great info with beginner how to info as well as advanced techniques.
As to the “why hunt them” keeps your shot good, reduces the crow population that raid pheasant, grouse, and duck nests, plus they wake me up when I want to sleep in .

I was told parts for the 1980 and older Evinrudes were no longer available as of 3 years ago.
I think the 35hp is the same as my 1975 15hp and that the design did not change from ’72 or ’73 until some time in the mid ’90s. LOTS of parts available and since they are common motors most shops have the basic parts on the shelf. I’ve also had good luck at Twin City Outboard with used parts.
June 19, 2009 at 1:35 pm #785183It kind of depends on what’s wrong with it. Things like head gaskets, cracked head and reed valves can be done somewhat cheap. A cracked block or piston rings is a lot more work. A similar used motor will still run about $1,000. I’ve seen ads on craigs list offering motor repair for older motors.
May 7, 2009 at 5:41 am #774645I think they call those the “FICHT” line- a copy of the suzuki motor. These were suppose to save OMC but were not a hit and had a short run before they went out of business for about a year when Bombardier purchased the Evinrude name.
April 24, 2009 at 1:39 am #770711I know guys get theirs re-built for snowmobiles $100-$200 for the re-build. Not sure you can re-build all shock though.
April 9, 2009 at 1:52 am #766922I’ve caught some of the biggest fish of my life out of trusty boats like yours! I love to fish out of small boats and prefer my 1979 14′ Alumacraft with a ’79 evinrude .99hp to most other boats. Except on windy days
March 26, 2009 at 3:07 am #762711I’ve seen alot of the smaller lakes in the metro area looking like a sea of floating ice cubes with most of the shore lines open 20-100 feet out. I drive around alot durring the day if your have a couple of lakes in mind let me know I will try to drive by.
March 26, 2009 at 3:01 am #762709A guy fell through on White Bear Lake today 50 yards from shore. The ice rods went into storage today for this guy!

March 17, 2009 at 12:31 am #759265I’ve used my buddies Rapala corded model and it works great. I picked up a Berkley brand corded model the other day and tried to clean some crappies with it. The Berkley did not work as well as the Rapala- I had to squeeze the switch with a gorilla grip to make it work (fatigued my hand quickly) and the switch had a delay it seemed. When squeezed it would take 1/2 to 1 second to turn the knife on. It did not seem to cut real well either. I took the Berkley knife back and I’m going to buy a Rapala model.
February 12, 2009 at 6:30 am #747492Well if no one else is going to give Jolly Ann Marine a plug I will. Check out Wade’s prices first, then skip the trip to the stores price shopping because I know Jolly Ann will beat the stores best “sale” price. Free shipping and great customer service. Still love my H20C!
February 11, 2009 at 5:11 am #7470632 feet of ice on centerville this past sat. I’d think it would still be a very strong base. Good water proof footwear is a must.
February 11, 2009 at 5:09 am #747062A friend of mine raised his up a couple of inches by useing a cut up hocky stick as a spacer on top of the transom.
February 11, 2009 at 5:01 am #747060Never owned a Force or known someone who did but all I can say is that if it comes with a “parts motor” the previous owner has had problems with it and surely you will too.
