since I’ve done this here’s my experience, I have an 18′ foot boat and most of the time I load up on a windy lake and I rarely got it perfectly straight, I installed 2 “centering” rollers and it was the best thing I ever did, the rollers grab the keel and I usually have to give it some throttle. and it is dead straight every time. Best of luck.

I have a 18 ft crestliner and it’s never been on a river, the old 24 volt power drive was ok but just a hassle using the foot control and trying to fish, auto deploy sounds nice but not sure I really need it, brushless sounds excellent too, more thinking/ learning to do. Thank you for everyones response.

Ok everyone that settles it looks like a new lite flight is on the wish list, Like I mentioned in my post it looked like my buddy was pushing to get it to cut but it could just as well be he had that look of determination to hold it straight :), thank you for all the input.

Menards has a clear tri polyurethane sealant in the paint dept next to the tubes of dap and silicone the stuff is amazing. it’s a little messy but worth it, do thin layers like the other guys mentioned till you feel like it’s all good.

Hi Grouse, it sounds like if you can get a decent replacement you’d keep it for quite awhile, it might be worth a call to “Gear Star Transmissions” to see if they have an option for you, they have a warranty of 3 years 100K, they are performance orientated so of course better everything inside.

OOPPS sorry I didn’t see you got it handled

Hi Stan thanks for the info, I tried a fine polishing cream just a small spot and I got a shiny spot but my arm got sore : ) so I’m going to get a head light polishing kit you can attach to a drill.

Yep Dicamba is the stuff, get the highest concentration you can find, I got it beat back pretty good and sprayed through the fence into the neighbors yard, than last year I got weed man to come out { I got to busy to keep after it } they got it pretty good but it did take a call and a google review to have then come back out with a supervisor.

Not sure what Eskimo was using but I’m sure that any light weight synthetic grease would be fine, I used Amzoil artic grease for my strikemaster lazer which maybe overkill but I had it on hand so thats what I used.

we have a spot in our main shooting plot that holds water so were going to lay in some 150′ of drain tile than regrade the whole plot, the problem is we had a guy re do our main road going in last dec and was supposed to come back out in the spring to pack and grade/crown but our weather has been holding us back, our other 3 plots seem to be going well with the clover.

Thorogood Boots for me too for years, used both the regular and lower cut, I’ve tried most except the Keen’s, can’t see myself looking for anything else.

My buddy and I just got back yesterday, the main road isn’t that bad it’s mostly at the landing and on either side of the island thats messy, the bite for us 13 miles out in 36′ was slow, we were in portables so we moved around a little not much help, next day we worked from 30’to 28′ and did fairly well, we wanted to get closer to the river but had some difficulty and wished we had a sled to get exactly where we wanted to go but we just made the best of it, thursday we worked the 26′ and got into them real good with a nice mix of walleye and sauger, it went dead between 11-1 then the bite came back, lots of little ones mixed in the the bigger ones but thats part of the deal, for us the bite shut down around 545, all of our fishing was on the east side of the road, if you do go you should be able to get to most places within reason and some decent mapping electronics working the breaks.

update, Kabouta deal didn’t happen, as it turns out he bid on it as a 2010 but it’s really a 2005 so he’s in a little deep and wouldn’t adjust price accordingly so I bought a 2014 Mahindra 3016 with 211 hours for the same price from a dealer.

I want to thank everyone for their input which is always priceless.

Thanks a ton guys, the class 1 hitch is rated at 1433 lbs, I will be using a disc, should be big enough for my plots, I had rented a JD 2025 in the past and it did the job ok, doing a comparison this kubota has more of everything, the place wants 14.5K plus bucket mod $850, not sure if thats a reasonable amount, thats about a thousand more than what I’ve seen for same model with more goodies on it and comp hours, he has already checked me out and came back immediately at 4.9 @ 48 months??? Better than my truck, LOL!!! : )

BTW the look on the guys face is perfect
