I have a little spot in Cutfoot that usually produces, and I see very little company. A little later in the morning I’ll hit Winnie, probably the dishs for starters, and then just run and gun after that.

    Hey Sean,
No, haven’t been fishing yet. We’ve been passing a bug around our house all winter, I’ll sure be glad when everyone starts feeling good. I’m suppose to get out with Mark trout fishing one of these days.

I’ve already started getting the itch for open water. Spent the night last night going through the new Northland Tackle packet.

Are you running a new rig this summer? How about you and Dave, are you going to do the tournament thing?

Anyway, I’m sure glad to hear all worked out well with your family!!!!!

    Hey Sean,
Just wanted to send along my prebirth congrads, hope everything goes well and all are healthy and happy. My twins are a year old now and I’m just starting to be able to sleep through the night. I just keep thinking how great it will be to introduce them to the world of fishing and hunting.

Just think, in about 20 years your children and mine will be competing against each other on the WWT. Sounds awesome doesn’t it? Hope you and your family have an awesome holidays!!! Tom Howell

Sorry to hear it didn’t work out for you. The forecast for this weekend sounds nice. I’ll be sitting in a tree, instead of in the boat. If you go, I hope you find some fish, good luck!

There are some real, and I mean REAL, horses in Winnie. There is a picture in Nodaks Lodge of a muskie that a tourist released last year without really knowing what he had. Muskie experts that have looked at the picture believe it would have easily broken the current state record.

I think you stand a good chance of catching a fish of a lifetime on Winnie. Good Luck! If you want anymore info. on the tournament let me know.

    Hi Fishing_girl,
Thanks for the congratulations! There is a womans tournament held in July out of the Pines Resort that has a northern pike division. I know the woman who fish in it sure have a good time.

    Hi Jason,
I was on the lake Sunday and found a pretty good bite going on shallow on the west side of Stoney Pt. Not sure how long it will hold though. There are fish holding on just about all the off shore stuff, but you have to work for these eyes. Keep moving around a lot. There is also quite a few eyes using the cabbage. Good luck to you and your family.

PS. I’ve actually had better luck with large leechs instead of jumbos.

    Sean,
Hope your vacations going well! We were on the water this weekend for the womens tournament out of the Pines Resort. Got to fish a lot and found a good crankbait bite in shallow on the cabbage with #7 shallow running shad raps. Surprisingly enough the blue, chrome and orange combo was really a hot color. Black and silver worked well also. Anyway, we’ll seee ya Saturday at the WWT. Good Luck!

Theres been a few tournaments going on, thus the tight lips. The shallow bite is still very good, and if you want to try for big fish, the deep stuff is holding some awesome fish. Monday we had three fish over 26″s. Sure wish we could have found one of them Saturday during the WWT.

Anyway, if you come up, be sure to bring minnows for the shallow bite, and leechs and crawlers for the deep bite. Good Luck!!
