Battery weight and charge lifetime are pretty big advantages. For me, I cannot get past that they cannot be charged at under 32 degree temps. I leave my batteries in my boat and trickle charge them over the winter, can’t do that with Lithium batteries in MN winter.

No guarantee Cousins comes back from the Achilles tear. Atlanta could have gone a lot of directions, I don’t have a problem with what they did in drafting Penix.

Vikes picks, they got good talent in needed positions so far….BUT…gave up a lot of draft capital to move up a few spots to get those guys. In the end, if they work out, no one will care about the lost capital, but if they don’t work out, it may mean the end of Kwesi, he stuck his neck out.

The one thing people don’t talk about is the signing of Darnold, who was a #3 overall pick a few years ago. His first 5 years with the Jets and Panthers dumpster fires blinds people to his physical talents. In O’Connells offense, he could finally realize his potential, he could be really, really good. Then JJ gets some time to learn, plus plus.

A buddy of mine is a mechanic for a fleet service, I just had this conversation with him at a sporting event we attended. His basic opinion, all brands have good and bad, he would not recommend any specific truck brand. Everything this are buying this year is the GM 6.6L gasser. He said they will not buy any Ford Ecoboost turbo’s again, too many issues. Diesels are too much maintenance and cost, although they run a few. All of the 5.3L GM’s they had, they had a re-programmer to disable cylinder on demand, ran in performance tow mode with 91 octane or E85.

I asked if he were buying a new truck today, what would he buy. He didn’t know specifically which, but said he would definitely not buy new, would look for anything pre-COVID years. Today’s quality is crap on all brands.

2 buddies have the Chevy Trailboss with the 6.2L gas, both love them and said it is light years better than the 5.3. Have a friend that is a mechanic for a fleet and said the GM 6.6L gas is amazing. No info on the baby diesel, but looks interesting in print.

I am a GM guy, own full sized trucks, but have several friends with Colorado’s and Canyon’s, they all like them.

That said, my in-laws all drive Jeep, and one has the Jeep Gladiator, if you consider that a mid-sized truck, and it is really nice. He uses it for everything I use my 1/2 ton truck to do, and has never complained.

Unfortunately, the COVID years has quality in the tank for MOST manufacturers, buyer beware.

Other than QB’s selected 1st overall, the success rate on 1st round QB’s is pretty dismal. Trading up to take the 4th or 5th QB taken in the draft, I agree that starts the clock on KOC getting fired. I think he will stay put, and make the decision when he sees what is available at the #11 pick. I don’t think JJ makes it that low, and I don’t think Penix or Nix will be starting quality QB’s in 3 years. I think Darnold has a better chance of success.

And I think the bigger decision is signing Jefferson to the highest WR contract ever. Better off trading him in my opinion.

I was given a backpack tackle box for a Christmas gift about 10 years ago. It was a Bass Pro backpack that was purchased off a clearance table. One of the best fishing accessories I have ever used. My only issue is that I am close to filling it up, with the added lures, baits, weights, bobbers, etc… that I pick up every year.

One thing about the drink package, if you factor in the cost, each person has to drink like 13-15 drinks a day to break even. Note that they throw in an excessive bar gratuity in the cost. If you drink that much, go for it, but for me the math does not add up, so we remove that and save the money. Usually there are on ship cash benefits, that has always paid for our drink tab.

Same with the specialty dining, but not at the same level of cost.

Biggest screen you can afford, especially with down/side imaging. On my 9″, a walleye on side imagining is like a grain of rice, hard to see.

We did an Alaskan cruise on NCL last year, was pretty awesome. My recommendation, get an aft facing (rear) balcony room, it gives you a more than a 180 degree view, great for the inside passages. We saw tons of whales, seals, porpoises, etc.. from our balcony. Halibut fishing was on my bucket list, but I did not do it, the cost was $2100 for 1 person, would have been less if I could have found a group, and you only fish for 40-60 minutes, because you have to fish during slack tide when that deep. Did a helicopter ride to the top of a glacier, awesome!! Crab boil was YUMMY!

First I heard of the cold temp charging issue with Lithium batteries. So does that include winter storage with a battery tender?

I had pretty much the same experience. Best part was the low attendance, unexpectedly, so was pretty easy to see everything and talk to anyone we wanted. The pickle and sausage vendor was the busiest we past by, we did not wait for the free samples, kind of regretting that now.

Just like Minneapolis is turning into a baby San Francisco, the Vikings are turning into a baby 49rs.

Shanahan believes his offense does not need a top QB, but they lost the SB because of poor QB play, and got beat by the current best QB.

O’Connell is copying Shanahan. Unfortunately, other than JJ, every player on the Vikes is 2nd rate to the same player on 49rs.

Vikes will eaily take last place in the North this year.

Blake Cashman – Eden Prairie alum. Watched him play football from 3rd grade all the way to a Senior in HS, same age as my son. Definitely has a commitment to football, always has.

I have owned mine for over 3 years now, I have not had any storage leakage problems at all. Only really issue I have had is the back filling of the rear live well, always has water in it.

Today’s 1/2 ton trucks are so watered down, meant more for casual truck use and commuting. Look at 1/2 ton trucks pulling big ice castles or bigger boats down the road, most are sagging in the back from weak springs, more so on a particular brand but not going to get into that fight.

My opinion, if you are going to go 3/4 ton, may as well just buy a 1 ton and save on license costs in MN. Ride isn’t that much different.

Been hearing a lot of good things about the new Chevy EcoTech 6.2L V8 gas engine, have not had the luck to drive on yet. Gov’t has wrecked Diesel for the common man, way to expensive, to much environmental crap on them.

I did end up purchasing the Larson FX1750DC, it was too good of a deal to pass up. I really like the boat, it performs perfectly for how I fish, and at the price it is much better than any aluminum boat I have ever fished in. It is heavy, so maxing out the outboard is suggested. I have a 115hp and its max is 150hp, wish it had the 150hp, but it works fine. Only issue I have is that it does not have really long rod lockers. In today’s world of 7′ and longer rods, this boat does not store them well, but a few modifications and it can work.

I really like the boat, especially at the price I bought mine. It is kind of a sleeper, especially since Polaris bought them out and buried the brand. I still think you will see a Polaris boat some day, with this hull and a Polaris outboard.

I have installed the I-Pilot upgrade on 2 Minnkota’s, and they worked as advertised. Never had any issues, and fairly simple.

This thread got me thinking about all the stuff I have sitting in a shed, hasn’t been used in like 5 years –

    2002 Ski-Doo 500f Touring, 2-up
    Otter sled with cover
    Eskimo Fatfish 6120 6-sided popup
    Jiffy Pro4 propane auger
    Legend Aluminum enclosed trailer, 7×23

Took a look at Craigslist and Marketplace, WOW! Prices are pretty inflated. Makes a guy say “Hmmmmmmmmm…..”

I agree, Smallie out of Mille Lacs, but I would also say, whatever fish it is, it will come out of Mille Lacs.

I would say the product that the NFL, NBA and MLB are presenting is crap. NBA is unwatchable, MLB has been for quite some time, and the NFL is right there now.

I’ve got other more time valuable things to do in my retired life to do that watch pro sports anymore.

Buuuuut, you can take the time to comment on them too funny.
    Get off my lawn…

And you can take the time to make a condescending comment about my opinion, keyboard cowboy!!

MN taxes everything it can tax, and the Dems find a way to spend all of it. I really do not understand how they keep getting voted in, without any competition.

I am lucky enough to say I was able to early retire, thanks to financial advice I was given when I was 21. But, after being retired for a year and a half, I can now see how much MN steals the money from retired folk with no income. We aren’t even getting Social Security payments yet, and MN is still one of the few states that taxes that as well. My wife and I have been looking for most of the year for new residence, domestic and abroad, even though my wife has strong feelings about leaving family and friends.

My choice would be Wyoming domestically, and Costa Rica abroad.

I swear by the Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires as well, have them on 3 vehicles and love them.

I have a Subaru Crosstrek and I could not get Defenders in its wheel size, so I got talked into the CrossClimate II’s. They are about a year old now, ~12,000 miles, and they are great tires as well, but they are directional. I would recommend them as well.

This is a great story, during the regular season, but unfortunately by the playoffs it will have to meet the NBA made up narrative, so they will not succeed. NBA is a business, not a honest sport. There is no drama, there is no national interest, and nothing in MN that the NBA wants in the Championship series.

Best record in the NBA, but not in the in-season playoffs, coincidence? I don’t think so….

This is a keep the innocent, innocent, law. Won’t do any good at all.

The a-holes that do this are the same people that say “it ain’t against the law if you don’t get caught”.

Just like texting a driving, I have never heard anyone say the DO text and drive, yet when you drive down the road you see texting and driving all the time.

Good idea, unenforceable, and idiots will be idiots anyways

My money is on the 49rs also.

But for the AFC, can’t decide between Chiefs and Ravens. Chiefs seem to be lucking out more than normal. So I will go with the Ravens.

    49rs over the Ravens – 31-20

Gas augers are almost more valuable as a boat anchor, unfortunately.

I have a Jiffy Model 30, likely sale price of $50

Also a Jiffy Pro-4, likely sale price of $80

And lots of competitors on Craigslist and Marketprice
