FYI, we did catch and release after the pictures. We are mostly C&R fishers.

    lol, 9 year old post….

it definitely has a catchable population of Smallmouth and it should only get better…catch & release everybody!

When did you start catching them here? We ended up with three yesterday.

My daughter just caught this here. Twenty years and this is a first for me.

We started with a 55 on our 16′ Lund and struggled in the wind. Stepped up to an 80 and made a huge difference, no more getting pushed around in the wind. We also have a 60″ shaft that is helpful in strong wind/waves even on moderate sized lakes.

This is what I bought about five years ago and does most anything I need. It is 77” wide and 12’ long. It is a Doolittle brand. We have 16 and 18 foot trailers also and rarely use them.

If you do most of your launching alone, I found this be very helpful after I installed it last year.

I was skeptical at first, but it was as advertised.

Otherwise, before that I always backed the rear of the boat in prior to unstrapping.

I really like St Croix rods, they stand behind them. Pick the model based on your budget, but I prefer 6’6″ medium with a fast tip. A good rod does make the difference, however I don’t think you need to spend a few hundred dollars either.

We live near the Iowa State Fairgrounds and go there every year. We are going to the Minnesota State football game this Thursday night and then to the Minnesota State Fair on Friday to see what it’s all about. I heard they had a Grainbelt Blue slushy?

The route we have taken in the past and did again just last week heading to Aitkin is 55 west off of 94 to the blacktop that runs north through Corcoran. This will dump you in Rogers. Since you are heading further NW you could probably take 55 a little longer.

Turned out to be a bad transducer on the Ulterra.

I just put an Ulterra on my boat. A main factor to that was fishing with my dad who is not in the best health and he could not put the Terrova up and down. It is sad to say, but with all of us getting older it is something to take into consideration depending upon who you fish with. Like others have mentioned, the remote is a must. I installed the Ulterra with the Mega DI transducer built in and am waiting for my backordered Helix 9 Mega DI unit to arrive.

Agree with Randy. Switched to Lucas Red and Tacky a few years ago and no problems since.

We have owned Durangos, a Cadillac SRX, and a Lexus RX350. For purposes of dependability and smooth ride (taking towing out of the equation as you said) the Lexus wins hands down. We still have the Lexus with 100k miles and going strong.

Has anyone made calls to the resorts they have reservations with to see how they are handling the situation in regards to deposits, etc. We are to go in August, but I am the only one in the family with a passport that is not expired and I don’t foresee getting the others renewed in time. I am waiting until July to see what the border and passport situation are but just curious.

My wife just called for her renewal this week for an August Canada trip and was told the same thing.

I just installed one this winter Denny. We have used it once and it worked great. Just had to back the trailer in a bit more to get it to latch correctly.

Just ordered at Bass Pro. $413 with one battery, $450 with two. Update, I ordered the two battery bundle and they just sent me an email that auger is on backorder and they cannot guarantee delivery. I tried to cancel the order within a half our and they told me I could not since it was a bundle and the battery already shipped. I guess now I wait and hope to get an auger to go with the extra battery. Asinine.

I have Navien’s in both my personal shop and business shop. They have only been in for about three years, but work well and were the overwhelming consensus from the plumbers I talked to.
