I put Continental PureContact LS tires on my wife’s Legacy before winter. She said they were a big improvement over the OEM tires they replaced.

With crappies, I have had good luck with a pink jig head and either white or chartreuse plastics. Never did well with pink plastics, however. Pink crankbaits have performed very well trolling for walleyes and there have been days where there had to be pink while jigging walleyes or you didn’t get bit.
January 13, 2020 at 2:17 pm #1905913We just went through this. My wife and I had our Silverado rear ended at highway speeds in a hit and run that ultimately led to the uninsured motorist being caught. The truck was totaled in the accident but fortunately, we escaped with relatively minor injuries. We were very nervous about how this would all go down. During our discussions with our insurance company (Traveler’s Insurance), they explained that first and foremost, we would be taken care of. They would take care of the damages and then they would go after the uninsured motorist to recover the costs…including our deductible. I am sure that they will be tied up in the process of recovering their money, but true to their word, we were taken care of.
August 8, 2019 at 11:13 am #1872368If its cold outside, it will get cold in a pop up. Temps from upper 40’s and up can be warmed sufficiently with an electric space heater. Below that, I need the RV propane heater running. Another thing to keep in mind is the sleeping areas. The beds are generally hanging off the ends and have nothing but a thin mattress and a piece of plywood to insulate you from the cool night air. Having an extra mattress pad or sleeping bag under you will help.
July 30, 2019 at 12:53 pm #1870541I’ve owned a 2007 Alumacraft and now a 2018 Alumacraft. Never an issue with either. If you get the opportunity to get on the water with it before buying, that should help with any concerns you may have.
April 3, 2019 at 3:53 pm #1848122As of last Saturday (3/30), the launch by the dam was still locked in. Looked like the main lake was wide open, so as soon at that bay at the launch opens up, we should be good to go. I didn’t drive anywhere else along the lake, but it wouldn’t be out of the question for other bays upstream to have some ice remaining.

We figure out how much we want to put away each month and set up automatic deposits. Right now its earning 2.2%. Not gonna get rich, but pays better than most banks. With the Ally accounts, you can set up as many accounts as you want. Want to save for boat electronics, put it in that account. Want to save for a fishing trip, put it in another account.

December 20, 2018 at 7:44 am #1819246Nice job there Tom! I hope that you can stick with it. As you know, I lost about 50 lbs a couple years ago and all it took was 1 month to throw all my good habits out the window. That was the year that Ashley graduated college and Tyler graduated High School. On top of that, they both have May birthdays. All that cake, ice cream, and graduation party goodies put me back on the path of overindulging. Since then, the 50 lbs that I lost has now been found.
Despite knowing how much better I felt at that lower weight and seeing lab results improving, its hard as hell to break that cycle of overeating. Congrats to you for having the discipline to stick with it!
October 25, 2018 at 7:53 am #1805680Assuming you are asking about blade baits, I would think a Special Mate tackle box would do the job. I have one for shad style crankbaits and it is awesome. Only downside is that it is bulky, but it will hold 120 lures.

July 11, 2018 at 8:04 am #1785068I eat walleye, perch, crappies, bluegills and small channel cats from pools 4 & 5. On the walleye I take the lateral line out and that seems to make a difference, however, I do that on walleye caught up north too.
Being about an hour from the river, its difficult to keep fish alive legally in MN. I bring a cooler with ice blocks and put the fish in the cooler for the trip home. If its really hot, I’ll grab a bag of ice to put on them. May not be alive, but they are cold when they meet the knife.
June 21, 2018 at 10:23 am #1781651We bought a Polar Bear Cooler last year and are happy with the purchase. Never tested the 24-hour ice claim, but it has always kept stuff plenty cold for our needs. It is very well built.
June 7, 2018 at 4:26 pm #1779056I put the microSD from my 93 in my PC, copy the Quickdraw files to the computer, remove microSD and insert MicroSD from 73. Paste files from PC into Quickdraw directory on microSD. Return cards to the proper locator.
Little bit of a pain, but not bad. Garmin has been pretty good about adding features through firmware updates, so still a bit of hope they can add sharing of Quickdraw contours.
June 6, 2018 at 1:03 pm #1778838I did look at my Garmin’s last night and can confirm that the Quickdraw maps do not transfer from one unit to the other through the data sharing cables.
June 5, 2018 at 3:48 pm #1778640The GPSMAP 76xx series do have sonar sharing, but unfortunately, the echoMAPs do not.
June 5, 2018 at 7:36 am #1778545I’ll have to look at mine. I know the Quickdraw maps show up on both of my units, but its possible I transferred them with a PC. When I bought my new boat last fall, I did take all the data off my Garmin that was on the old boat and saved it to my new 93SV. I am pretty sure that I only copied it to the 93SV and not the new 73CV on the new boat because I wanted to test the data sharing. I made some new maps this past weekend using my 93SV. If I remember tonight, I will look to see if I can see these new maps on the 73CV.
June 4, 2018 at 11:33 am #1778387Although the 2 units use the same transducer, I am not aware of a way to get them to share 1 common transducer. Will need a second transducer.
Connecting the 2 units so that they share waypoints and quickdraw maps only require 2 lengths of 18 gauge wire. Each unit will have a transmit and a receive wire (Blue and Brown). Connect the transmit wire from unit A to the receive wire on unit B. Then connect receive on unit A to transmit on B. The Garmin data sharing cable has a 3rd wire that connects ground to ground between the 2 units. I did not purchase the Garmin data sharing cable and only used 2 wires. I did not connect the ground wires and everything works as it should. It was my understanding that if the units are on the same battery system, they are already grounded together. If you put them on separate batteries, you may want to run a 3rd wire for the ground.
You will need to turn on data sharing in each unit.
May 10, 2018 at 6:56 am #1773818I have 3 Cabelas Tournament ZX spinning reels and have been happy with them. I think I have purchased them all when on sale and think they are a solid choice at $50.
March 5, 2018 at 1:04 pm #1757126I’ll pile on in support of the Limit Creek rods. I own a couple “Smoothie’s”, the 5’10” extra fast spinning rod, the 8’3″ telescoping spinning rod, and a few of the 6’9″ casting rods. I have been pleased with all of them and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase any of them again.
February 28, 2018 at 2:14 pm #1756011Something else that many CC holders might want to think about too is whether a random drug/alcohol testing provision be attached to a permit especially if a cc permit is attached to ownership or purchase ability for a black gun. There are hundreds of instances where random drug/alcohol testing is a requirement for work, and not at all related to criminal activity.
You lost me on that one there Tom. Where are you getting your information that carry permit holders are creating a problem due to alcohol and drug use? All permit holders that I know are very responsible individuals and adhere to the laws already on the books (ie. not carrying while under the influence of drugs and alcohol). Carry permit holders in MN already have to submit to and pay for training, get background checks and pay a fee every 5 years so that we can exercise our right to carry. Do you have to go to training, get a background check, pay a fee and pee in a cup in order to exercise your right to vote?
February 28, 2018 at 10:17 am #1755907The question was asked “Who is mentioning taking away guns?” Well, the current bill (HF 3022) in the MN House does. You probably won’t hear all the details mentioned on your local nightly news and likely not in your favorite newspaper and definitely not by the authors of this bill who are out there proclaiming that this is simply about background checks and the mentally ill.
The best place to get the facts about what is proposed here in MN is to actually read the bill. https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bills/text.php?number=HF3022&version=latest&session=ls90&session_year=2018&session_number=0
I recommend reading the whole thing, but if you jump to sections 8 and 30, you will see gun bans are clearly present in this bill.
February 16, 2018 at 9:32 am #1752842A couple things to try:
1. try hitting the back button and see if you can go back to the previous page you were on. If successful, clear cache and history.2. try opening a new tab(square box with number to right of address bar. click on plus sign that appears in upper left). select the new tab. click on the tab button again and close the tab with the pop up. Clear cache and history.
I have had these pop ups as well, and either of the above have allowed me to back out of the pop up page.

January 24, 2018 at 4:29 pm #1747119We just returned from a trip up the shore. Went all the way to Grand Portage in our travels and there was not a sign of ice on the lake. Saw a few shore fisherman along the scenic drive between Duluth and Two Harbors.
An interesting story about a previous trip we took to Grand Marais a few years ago. When we arrived, there was ice as far as the eye could see. It was hard to tell how thick the ice was, but I’d estimate at least 6 inches. On the morning we left, we looked out the hotel window first thing in the morning and saw nothing but open water. The thing that puzzles me is the Grand Marais Harbor (Bay of Grand Marais) was also completely free of ice. If you look at an arial photo of that bay, you will understand my amazement. That bay is mostly enclosed, except for a small opening in the breakwall where boats can pass. Still wonder how all that ice got out of that bay overnight. It would have been cool to watch how that ice got sucked out of the bay. The ice was gone all the way down the shore as we drove home.
December 11, 2017 at 4:06 pm #1734690Gout is typically associated with the big toe, but can show up in any joint. When I was dealing with the unbearable pain of gout, I had flare ups in my big toe, mid foot, ankle and knee.
My gout was first diagnosed by a podiatrist who I was referred to by my primary doctor. After a few visits with my primary doc for severe foot and ankle pain like you are describing, he sent me to the podiatrist. First thing the podiatrist asked after the introductions was “So…anyone ever checked for gout?” Once I got it under control, I haven’t had a problem for the past 3 years.
It would definitely be worth mentioning at your appointment if it hasn’t been investigated before.
November 16, 2017 at 3:11 pm #1728562I carry likewise when hunting. No shots inside my comfort zone, so the shotgun has seen all the action. Nice looking set up! Now I hope Santa Wife delivers me a new G40 for Christmas!
Another good place to buy 10mm ammo is at http://www.pbrammo.com
They make good ammo that cost less than Underwood. Their premium line ammo is close to Underwood’s performance and much better than the watered down stuff you find on store shelves. No hunting loads, but great for practice. The negative on PBR is they don’t keep things in stock very well. I have used both Underwood and PBR. Both make good ammo and if you can keep shipping costs down, they both beat the pants off of store offerings in both price and performance.IF you shoot 10mm a lot, you will eventually want to look into reloading. If you have no interest in reloading…save your cases. I’d be more than happy to take them off your hands. I am reloading 180 grain rounds for around 15-17 cents per round. Even the PBR ammo is about 48 cents per round without adding shipping costs.
