There are fish biting on the deep cranks. I couldn’t get them to go on spinners/crawlers near july bar, so threw out a blue chrome and a clown. both got bit a few times in that general area, 30-35 fow.
hey taz,
i am very interested in taking this off your hands. do you know if it has the upgraded or improved spot lock? i know they improved it at some point. Also, is it coming with the quick detach plate?

Fished Saturday, didn’t find anything worthwhile in the lake. Moved to can line and head of lake and hit ’em hard. not a river pro so pulling lead is my go to. was a nice day so a ton of pleasure boats to contend with. jointed fire tiger out-fished every other bait. Have fun out there!
Spent just a couple hours on pool 2 yesterday with my son and father in law. Trolled shad raps on lead and hooked up within 20 minutes. Caught a variety of walleye and sauger with a dandy 22.5″ sauger. Found them in 14-18 fow and could have caught them all day had we stayed. Fun morning!
May be a dumb question, but I’ve never been, do they display all the gear before it goes to bid?
Spent a few hours getting my butt kicked on South Center in Lindstrom. Found fish very deep and didn’t fish them, was with a CPR only buddy and didn’t want to kill anything. No shallow fish, no mid-basin fish to be found. When the drizzle/rain started it was time to find a cheeseburger. Water temp was 43
So, when I try to select the map, I only have lowrance and navionics as options. It isn’t finding lakemaster, should I reset factory settings?
Thanks fellas, all great input. I shoot a .243, and short of a few poor shots, have fell plenty of MN deer. I like the idea of the 7mm-08 or the youth ruger. I’m a tight wad, so don’t want to spend a ton of dough until i know it’s something he’ll stick with. I mean, he likes fishing but I am not buying him loomis rods yet! Thanks again guys, hopefully posting 1st buck pictures in a few months.
I served in the Army for four years and MN National Guard for two. I signed up to protect his right to free speech, whether I agree with what he is saying or not. No one is obligated to get on his side. He thinks there is a problem, real or perceived, with the way people of color are treated, he didn’t elude to himself being oppressed. He could have come up with a much better platform to forward his message but it in no way, shape, or form means there is a “True American” way to do so. I am a middle aged white guy who also believes there is a problem with the way people of color are treated and I can help the fight and still honor the national anthem, and would stand beside the guy if the day came. Would still think he made himself out to be an ass, but here we are talking about it.
James, bring the filming gear down to the Rum River, I got a secret spot!!!
Did that guy really use “spear chucker” in a public forum? Do we have to wonder why there’s any animosity in the fix mille lacs debate? Very discouraged there’s fellow fisherman still harboring that mentality.
Has anyone caught wind of Red Tails being available for this weekend? Fife talked about crawlers, but it seems as the water has cooled so would the effectiveness of crawlers. Anyone gonna fish crawlers this weekend?
i would have liked to crank on north long, we didn’t have the equipment either. our water temp was 55 and the weeds were still green down to 20 feet.
hey brian, fleet farm has okuma line counter combo’s for $87.00, with telescoping rods. pretty inexpensive set up and decent gear.
are you marking any fish in the gravel? was thinking of dragging some spinners/crawlers if i couldn’t get bit with lead
i agree with wade b, your show is unique. if we want to watch linders or midwest, we’ll tune in to them too. if you wander too far from your roots you risk turning in to their shows. in general discussion james spoke of the details and nuances of jigging the jigging rap, would like to see and hear more of that on the shows, details details details. keep up the great work
Are we really talking about strategies for ensuring we can take multiple limits of fish? The first thing i taught both my children is to only take what we can use. The messaging here sounds outdated and selfish. I imagine the guy from cove bay taking his 14 mo old to grab 12 eyes is the loudest complainer about the nets on mille lacs wrecking the fishery. We need to think sometimes before we say or write things.
hats off to Kent and Warrior, still a fantastic boat and 7-8 grand less than the lund a couple booths over.
panfish and we’ll set tip ups for toothy guys. i believe the walleye population is pretty low right now, so the boy and I will stick with the pannies.
sure is. my folks have a place on it and we’re spoiled by the dock fishing. i really enjoy ice fishing it, know it well enough to stay away from the crowds and still get bit!
how long are your leaders off the lead? are you tying right to the lead or swivels? gonna give it a whirl tomorrow and have downrigger gear but never hurts to have options. thanks.
try a flu flu, heard they’re magical anytime of year on any body of water
