Vectra 3D is the best product out. Most ticks around this area are resistant to frontline, etc.

Webster, SD great multispecies for everybody.
ditto, I wouldn’t mind getting out and fishing in the motherland. I bet TG002 would be in as well.
November 14, 2013 at 5:12 pm #1364147Unfortunately, you won’t get many good reviews of Jiffy Augers on here, but they build a high quality product. But I bought a Pro-4 when it came out and have loved it. I have had no problems and it and it cracks right off even on the coldest days. Plus no gas to mix and/or spill and a couple of 1 pound tanks get me through the entire season.
November 5, 2013 at 12:15 am #1203890I have a Jiffy pro-4 and love it. It cuts well and always starts, plus NO gas to spill. I have a Clam Nanook, a Clam command post and a 1 man clam packer shack thanks to a fellow IDO’er who was selling one last year. I love the clam shacks, but i know otter has an awesome product. However, they are just too heavy for me to lift out of the truck by myself. someday when i get a wheeler, i will definitely buy an otter. you can always set up your hub and go “prospecting” if needed and move in no time to find fish. you can always find a cheap one man to pair with a hub for the purpose of searching.
October 27, 2013 at 4:36 pm #1202489I’d save the hassle and build it with copper and compression fittings and/or flex line, worked well for my LP garage heater.
October 27, 2013 at 4:31 pm #1202488As a Wisconsin resident, I would recommend Northeast SD (many lakes and sloughs to fish) or Wyoming, because they have NO income tax to take from your retirement funds. Plus you can always travel easily from those 2 places to many great outdoor spots!
March 29, 2011 at 8:25 pm #951889I caught the thing and it had a red eye like a rockbass, but the body was way lighter than any rockbass that I’ve caught in northern MN it was the similar to a striped bass silver color. I was thinking crappie/rockbass as the lake we fished contains crappie, gills, pike and muskie to my knowledge and is a 13 acre 28 ft deep spring/creek fed pond 2 miles back in some public hunting land near the indian reservation…needless to say the trail to get to it is very sketchy and it is rarely fished in the winter or summer. nice relaxing place to fish except the train track nearby that runs 4-6x per day.
March 29, 2011 at 8:16 pm #951887Reflex is probably the best available if you can find someone who does it. My brother does it in SE SD. about 500 bucks should cover most half tons
February 3, 2011 at 4:39 pm #933321good work chomps…where did you find that pic that stunningly resembles G?
February 3, 2011 at 4:27 pm #933313Big G has been pretty quiet as of late, has he gone into hiding until next season?? Don’t worry pug & G, I see a Jeff Garcia or Mcnabb signing in the vikes future or possibly a trade for Cutler or K. Kolb….looks like the vikes will be in the cellar for years to come!!! Go Pack Go!! and BTW, I am not an alcoholic…they go to the meetings and until they allow drinks at the meetings I will not be in attendance!!!
February 3, 2011 at 4:22 pm #933310I’m not sure why you put magnum PI in there where chi town should be…I think that chicago is not tropical enough for him. Pug and G, I have a Woodson and Matthews jerseys that I can borrow you for the game, so that you can root for your true favorite team! Go Pack Go!
February 3, 2011 at 4:17 pm #933300I use this mix:
1/2 gal. apple juice
1/2 gal. apple cider
1 cup sugar
1 container of cinnamon sticksI boil all of those together until the sugar dissolves and it caramelizes a bit, then let it cool to room temperature. Then I add 2 1/4 cups of everclear. Its a good mix to use, plus the finished amount fits into a gallon milk jug or an apple cider gallon jug, that is of course after the chef drinks a sample cup! I make it during the summer for the baseball team on a semi-regular basis.
February 2, 2011 at 2:45 am #932592Go Pack Go!!! The Claymaker is feeling snubbed for not getting defensive player of the year, apparently the voters liked Troy’s hair better. I see him taking his anger out on post-rape Big Ben to the tune of 2 sacks . Then as all packer fans know: In Woodson We Trust! so he’ll make 1 or 2 game changing plays!
February 2, 2011 at 2:38 am #932590at least I got credit for supplying the information…where’s your bibliography old man???
February 2, 2011 at 2:36 am #932588I don’t have an atv or sled either, so I pull all my stuff in the base of my nanook when I go out. my dad always had a jiffy growing up, white lightning I believe, so I’ve never used a lighter strikemaster, but I’d rather have one thats a little heavier with metal versus plastic parts from a durability stand point. his jiffy has been around about ten years and is still going strong, and my uncle has my dad’s previous auger, an older model 30, and its still sawing ice as well. just my $0.02
February 1, 2011 at 4:38 am #932255Jiffy!…Is there another ice auger company??? I have the pro4 propane auger and have never had a cylinder freeze at all this season. It uses a high pressure regulator, so it actually sucks the fuel out of the cylinders as opposed to pressure needing to build up. I’ve fished some days that were -30 degrees without freeze up, so I think this is a mute point.
January 17, 2011 at 11:51 pm #927177I’ll believe it when I see it. But with the vikes history of signing players that are past their prime and should have retired…I’m thinking that Jeff Garcia could be there next QB, unless Gus “The Bus” Frerrotte or Mark Brunell aren’t ready to call it quits yet. But seriously I think they will make a run at vick or mcnabb or possibly V. Young. Hope they pick another loser! Go Pack Go!!!
January 17, 2011 at 1:17 pm #926965Well big G here’s my smack and predictions….Packers beat the bears in the NFC Champ. and move on to play the Notyets in the Superbowl, where they proceed to crush them. Clay Matthews with 2 or 3 sacks of the “Sanchize” in the big dance along with a masterful performance by Rodgers and the offense, lead to an easy defeat of Rex “Foot Man” Ryan and the rest of the Notyets! Go Pack Go!!!
January 16, 2011 at 8:22 pm #926802Glad to see “Gentleman Jim” back in a twins uni again this year. I went to three games last year sporting his 25 jersey and had the privilege of seeing him hit 5 HR.
January 16, 2011 at 5:48 pm #926763I will agree with most of that; however, ted has made some bad moves too… a la trading up to get TJ Lang, who cant even play his position and couldn’t beat out the rookie from Iowa. He also let Tauscher go ‘cuz he couldn’t play anymore only to re-sign him early into the next year ‘cuz Lang didn’t pan out. I’m also not sold on this punter he picked up, if you can legitimately call him that. I will give him credit though for drafting and building for years to come with good young players on defense and offense. Hopefully, they will draft Ryan Donahue (P) out of Iowa and let masthay go.
January 16, 2011 at 1:21 pm #926706No problem, glad to help. If you search on you tube…midwest outdoors magazine did a nice piece on all of the products in their line.
January 16, 2011 at 1:20 pm #926705I purchased one this fall and love it…it may be a little heavy, but can’t we all use a workout??? Plus I’d rather have a heavier auger built to last than a lighter one with lots of plastic parts to break and release. My dad always had jiffy’s growing up and they have lasted as long as we have been ice fishing.
December 22, 2010 at 11:32 pm #919440I have the jiffy propane. I fish out of my car mainly so I didn’t want to have to worry about spilling gas in my car, etc. So far I love the propane auger…starts on the first pull with no fumes and cuts pretty well plus no gas to mix! I don’t really notice a weight issue, but my dad has always had jiffys and I am a tall, strong guy, so I guess I notice the weight less?? Hope this helps.
December 22, 2010 at 1:19 am #919168Nope that is a different one. The one I am talking about is about 5-7 miles west of Red Cedar.
