It wasn’t pass interference because they weren’t calling it.
To say nothing of the fact that the ball wasn’t catch-able…..unless Tyler Johnson’s arms were five feet long.
Thanks Refs.

There were a lot of reasons why they lost – The refs inconsistency was one of the many reasons.
There were a half dozen pass interference’s that weren’t called. Both ways. Rodgers interception the most glaring.
OK, fine, you’re going to let them play. So be it.
But then for the refs to change their approach when the game is on the line? Really? The refs aren’t supposed to have ANYTHING to do with the outcome of a game.
It was a bad call because they weren’t calling it the whole game.
If they would have been, it would have been the right call.
With their inconsistency, the refs made it a bad call.
Brady reminded me of Brett Favre the way he threw balls up for grabs.
Three interceptions thrown and should’ve been a couple more that were dropped.
Even the 50 yard completion in the first quarter that set up their first touchdown was a bobbled ball.
I guess it’s true what they say: Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.
Don’t be afraid of COVID
(if you can be airlifted to Walter Reed at any time and have an army of doctors at your beck and call 24/7 who give you treatments that aren’t even available to the public).
MAGA!
All these Republicans contracting the virus.
How long before the official Republican Party position will be if you don’t get Covid19, you can’t call yourself a Republican.
Haven’t had the virus? You’re a RINO!
Just a funny thought to lighten things up!
Looks to me like the Vikings are two years away from being two years away.
Reason for optimism!
I heard one of the pre-tournament tactics was to go to all the surrounding bait shops that carry willow cats and buy up all the willow cat inventory so the other competitors cant get any to use.
How about that!
Thank you for the replies.
DaveB, I’ve been concentrating on current seams created when east-west cuts empty into larger north-south flowing backwater sloughs. Kind of a water right angle of sorts.
Typically there is a sand bar built up on the inside of where the two currents meet and then the current seam. A bit further down where the current slows is where I’ve been jigging. Throwing jig and crawler up into the current and working it back through the current seam to where the water slows.
1/4oz jig and crawler.
Pool 8.
Pretty slow! Four walleyes the last two days out.
Thanks again.
Hey Mike, in the time it took you to write your post – a minute or two, Nike probably sold 100,000 more pairs of shoes worldwide.
I’m sure they’re really going to miss you!
I’m new at targeting walleyes on the river and just not sure if it pays to go out the next few days with the water levels like this. I see the water temperature here this morning is at about 49 degrees.
Can you suggest any patterns/tactics for super-high water river Walleyes that might work?
Thanks in advance Dave!
Dave, do you still chase walleyes on the big river when the water gets insanely high, like it’s about to get?
The next couple days the river is really high, but the forecast for next week is flood stage.
Ironmike you could walk in on the West side from 7th Street – drive south past the 7th street boat landing and go in on the left, past the old folks homes. If you want to be further south toward the gravel pit, you could park behind the Diocese building. There’s an enormous unused parking lot behind the building.
I dont care one way or the other about the whole political angle to this. Knock yourself out – I’ve got my own life to live.
But I dont care what anyone says: Colin Kaepernick is not a good QB. I thought he was terrible when he was playing.
Passes hitting the ground in front of wide open receivers, stupid reads, etc. In my opinion as a QB he SUCKED.
I’m sure there are many, many monster flatheads in pool 5. To me that area always looked really good.
What a fish! Just short of the record. I’d like to hear the story behind it. Hopefully some publication or news outlet will interview him. If you hear anything if you let us know that would be appreciated.
Did I hear Minnesota has a new state record flathead? Last night on the St Croix, by Mark Mosby of St. Paul.
Anyone?
Brian do you think from a habitat perspective, that the lock and dams on the Mississippi present the best opportunity for the super trophy fish that we’re talking about here?
I’d like to throw my vote in for:
Instead of circle hooks, go with a 8/0 – 10/0 kahle hook. I use Eagle Claws.
RS, do you use the bait-feeder when you’re sturgeon fishing?
For flatheads I do, but not so much for sturgeon.
Don’t you want a bait clicker?
I don’t think the Sahara’s have a bait clicker/baitrunner function, do they?
If you like Shimano’s I’d recommend taking a look at the Shimano Baitrunner 8000. Just a beautiful reel.
I thought about that targaman.
Do they keep you in the exact same position, or do they vary by one or two feet? (Which is still very good).
I wonder about line control when using one of these – It’s vital to have the boat in the exact same position, if at all possible, so your line stays tight.
I agree with beefier gear to better control the fish might be the best strategy on this.
I’m on the Mississippi. A lot of current, especially these days. I don’t use two anchors. I’d like to though.
What do I consider big? I consider a 40 lb flat to be “big” – at least applicable to what I’m talking about in my original post. My largest flat is 50 lbs. About the same for Sturgeon.
This past weekend I caught a 50″ sturgeon and he did tangle me in the anchor but luckily I was able to untangle and not lose him. After that I did put the screws to him more and toward the end I turned him when he tried to do it again. But he was tired too.
My main gear for Sturgeon is a Shimano 8000, tiger-lite rod, and 40# mono suffix elite. For flats and Sturgeon I use Abu 7000’s with tiger-lites and 30# mono Stren.
Maybe the only answer is to be more aggressive with them. But in my mind, even then there are no guarantees. I lost a flat last year that got tangled up in the anchor line and when I first saw him I swear he was half the length of my 16′ boat.
Brian, I believe this is the hole by the gill opening you referenced. Plain as day. Good to know!
Thank you RS. That is some good news!
Can anyone tell me what kind of sturgeon this is? I would have said Lake Sturgeon but his color is more of a golden yellow or copper so I’m not sure. I’d also say a shovelnose, but his nose isn’t really shaped like a shovel. I caught a Lake Sturgeon in the same place a few days later and he was stone gray.
He was about 28″ long, caught in the Mississippi River.
First time caller long time listener.
Does the sturgeon bite typically improve / heat up in the Fall?
I’ve been chasing sturgeon on the Mississippi this summer but with the high water and other personal stuff going on I haven’t had the opportunity to get out fishing as much as I would like. I fear I’m running out of time this year – so that’d be welcome news if the Sturgeon fishing will in fact be strong over the next couple months!
Thanks in advance!
