What’s the point of this? I’ve never owned either Talon, or PP but why make a hydrolic version? Obviously there are people that like hydrolic over electrical powered poles but I can’t imagine it’s worth hopping into the other’s market. Just seems like a waste of time and money as I don’t see them taking customers from Power Poles with this.

but now your Minn Kota and hydraulic anchor can talk to each other…haha I had the same thought. Talon sales must really have took a dive.

Just picked up a TUCR Fusion. It will be my go to rod for jigging spoons and smaller raps for crappies, perch, and smaller walleyes. Just wondering what everyone would suggest for the main line, braid, floro, etc…
Will also use it on Red Lake using 1/16 to 1/8 oz spoons for eyes.

I used my 31” Fusion on Red last year and couldn’t put it down. It’s a very fun rod for those sized walleye. I use braid w/ mono leader.

might not be worth the dough because if you request free credit monitoring or a cash payment you’re giving up your right to take legal action against Equifax in the future. This means that if somebody steals your identity in the future, you can’t sue Equifax. You’re settling your legal issue with Equifax right now.

I actually read up on this…by taking the money it DOES NOT exclude you from future law suites.

good to know! Thanks for clarifying.

Has anyone tried the PP super slick V2? That’s another I’m interested in trying.

Nanofil is being phased out. If you like it then it might be a time to stock up.

A line that is far better in knot strength and abrasion resistance is Fireline Ultra 8. It is one of the best casting superlines I’ve used. It doesn’t cast as far as Nanofil, but it’s not too far behind.

I believe that’s the line that won the “Best Fishing Line” award at the 2017 ICAST. Have heard good things -wish there were more color options though. Will probably try on one of the setups this springs.

I hate the handles on the legend x and the legend elite. The legend xtreme aren’t super comfy but the sensitivity in the handle is crazy

x2 handles blow, blanks are nice…I’d design a custom with the scv blank and still save $$$

With the ice season starting to wind down I was wondering what were some things people added to there ice arsenal that they really liked?

For me one it had to be the 40 Volt Strikemaster. I never thought I would be a battery auger guy, I always carried a gallon of fuel with me on the wheeler. This year I tried it and love it! I don’t see how I can ever go back. No warm up time no smoke, quite as can be and all the power I could need. One of the other things I like, which I have discovered recently in the last few weeks, is when it binds it will kick out instead of just fighting you like a gas auger. And if it really gets stuck you can just back it out.

Agreed Bryan! Love my 40v. Best piece of ice fishing equipment I own.

I personally tip the treble of a jigging rap with meat and don’t tip rippin’ or slab raps.

I have the older blue camo Otter Cottage xt900 and it’s perfect for me. I’m 6’2″ 210lbs. Last year the girlfriend and I fished out of it pretty comfortably for late season pannies. This year I got the Otter XTH Lodge to make it more comfy for us. As far as rods, you can fish a 32″ in an Otter Cottage but it’s close to the fabric – my TUCRS are 31″ just to play it safe.

The new St. Croix handles are goofy and uncomfortable with the way I hold my rods (in between the pinky and ring finger). My favorite handle of all time is the slim Fuji VSS-16 as on my favorite jig stick the Xtreme 69mlxf. Those days are over and will be going custom here on out unless I find used LES elites and XS xtremes. Recently picked up a used JTX-MAG Med-Lt w/cork but need to figure out how to move that stupid hook keeper as I hold my rods with my left hand. Word of advice to non-custom rod builders…HAVE THE HOOK KEEPER ABOVE THE REEL FOOT (cough cough G Loomis). Stop discriminating against us lefty fishers ) okay rant over…that said my next rod will be a TUCR APEX.

I jumped on this yesterday even though I’ve been happy with my 8″ K-Drill (mostly). Love the K-Drill until you start getting into the 25+ inches of ice and then with a lot of holes it starts to work pretty hard. So I asked Scheels to price match fleet farm at the $449.99 and then they had a second battery for $50 bonus offer so I got the two for $499.99 + tax. At that price, I couldn’t say no.

    You’re welcome )

I know it’s not a soft side bag but I like my Flambeau box I got last year. The top is padded unlike the Eagle Claw one. I can fit four combos in it without folding the handles.

Agreed that this is the best auger out right now. Love mine. I got mine during cyber Monday for $150 off plus spare battery. Have Scheels match that price and get the spare battery for $50. Sweet deal. You won’t regret it.

We nailed them on Friday and Saturday in 7 FOW. 3-man limits both days with plenty of throwbacks and multiple fish over 20”. Don’t be afraid to go shallow and stay away from the crowds. Jigging caught 90% of our fish. Steady catching all day. Best time 4-5p. Good luck.

Fished the Otter Pro Lodge this weekend with 3 people. We were comfortable, no complaints. I’d say ideal for 2 people though. Easy for me to set up solo, too. I’d you’re ever going to fish with 3 people, get the Lodge.

From personal experience I wouldn’t use braid for ifish pro/finicky foolers. I found the braid freezing up too much. Mono would suffice.

Scheels matched Gander’s $150 off sale plus I had a $50 gift card. Scheels threw in the extra battery for $50. $434.29 (price including tax) was all I paid.

I got lucky during Cyber Monday and scored the 8″ Strikemaster 40v w/ extra battery for $430 out the door. Only used it once this season and it cuts like butter. Love it so far.
