The two deer I have shot with the .44mag were both between 50 and 60 yards. The first I shot free hand and hit him a little high and broke his back, so he dropped instantly. The second was shot right in the boiler room and ran probably 40 yards. But I use a red dot scope, so I probably wouldn’t shoot beyond 100 yards anyway. With a rest 75 yards is all I feel comfortable with anyways.
I was talking to a kid at Cabelas about the .460 and he was telling me at the muzzle you have about 2300fps and at 100 yards it was 1500 fps, which I don’t know if he knows what he was talking about or not, so I threw the question in your direction. I hunt in a shotgun zone and the top of the line slugs are only 1900fps and they cost 2.50-3.00 dollars per round So if I can get a better round for a cheaper price I will spend the $1000. I guess just any insight you have with this gun I would love to hear.

    Thanks
    Tex

    P.S.
Do you ever get to the northern suburbs for your conceal and carry classes? Or can you suggest a good place to go.

I have also been using a .44 mag the last couple years. But I am now thinking of going up to the .460 mag. Do you know anything about this pistol?

I think a 200″ 8 point might be a mistake. But if it’s not, I am buying land in Iowa.

I also heard the moose hunting thing. But something like that they may have mistaked it for a moose. That buck is HUGE.

Between myself and four friends, we managed to release 800 crickets throught out the school. So the last week of school all you could hear in every class room was the sound of crickets chirping.
We had a better idea but most people were afraid to do it. At graduation every student was supposed to palm a small marble. And when you shake the principal after you got your diploma you transfer the marble to his hand. It would have been great to have him at the end of graduation with 300 marbles in every pocket he had.
