Is the ramp at the Wildcat park in Minnesota side a good ramp? If the tourney is limited to 7 and 8 pools I will probably stay in 8 and run around observing. I’m hoping though they can come down to 9

I have the 597ciHD and want to use it to only locate my waypoints while ice fishing. Do I only need a power cord and if so can I get away with a small battery like we use for our ice flashers?

Thanx for response ER. What unit would u recomend utilizing the US2 on my Terrova? I would like gps/sonar combo and prefer internal reciever and not break my bank account. I tried running a a seperate transducer on this unit but the cord was wrapped around everything!

They have priced matched before and I’m sure they would have done it this time but 5%of a $350 purchase wasn’t worth it.

Luv, I signed up for Lacrosse a couple weeks ago as a co and didn’t have a guarentee. I am taking each tournament as I go so don’t know if I’m fishing all due to work schedule. Will be fishing Prairie and Lacrosse super. I see you are from my neck of woods. E-mail me and maybe do some pre-fishing or expense sharing. I am off that whole week.

I posted a couple of weeks ago for anyone needing a co for Lacrosse BFL. I haven’t heard from anyone so just call and register and I will be your guarentee. R.D.

Rainyman, I am not much of a walleye troller but fished a crappie classic in northern Miss. a couple of years ago. Down there trolling cranks for big slabs is norm so I rigged my 20′ bass boat that runs a 225Merc w/drift socks so I could stay around 2mph. I took a drift sock and tied to my front dock cleats, did this on each side and used a trolling bar attached to back seat post. Able to maintain different speeds and with a sock on each side your steering isn’t affected. There still may be a pic of us doing this on Crappie USA .com and search tourney results for 2004 or 05′,Classic,then find pictures. I will try to find and post back.

Our yellow lab started having seizures around the age of 2 also. He was having them about every 4 months or so. At first he was having them when there was a full moon. Weird. The seizures only lasted 5 minutes or so from start to finish. There are alot of websites out there. We finally gave into the meds, and have been seizure free since. We delayed given meds because of his age, but began to get worried we may be doing more harm then good by not giving him the meds. If you do put your dog on meds, make sure he is given a yearly blood test. After the first year of him being on them, we had to raise the dosage. In the morning he gets a pill and a half in his food, and then 12 hours later he get the same amount with an apple. Good luck, and if this vet thinks it’s normal, find another one again!! Labs are known to have seizures, but your vet must be concerned! My wife use to work at Petco and a customer told her once that she gave her dog a raw hide from Target and her dog had a seizure. She was also told that raw hides that are made in other countries seal the raw hides with arsenic. We only give american made pigears to our dog now. Every little bit helps, whether it’s the raw hide or not, it has given us peace of mind. Hope you get good news!

Photos were taken and fish were released in the Cedar at Palo. Nobody had a camera at the weigh in and needed some memory photos of my dad and I. Looking forward to the Coralville open May 13.

HH, I called down to Mcbride DNR station and they said it would be best that way we can cull our fish if needed which as a registered bass tourney we are exempt from state cull law. I sent it in Tuesday and will either pick it up Thurs. or Fri. Let everyone know its a go!! Thanx, R.D.

HH, I have posted on Iowa Outdoors about holding weekday tourneys and having one on May 3 at Mcbride. You stated day time tourneys might not work for many and I was wondering what time frame might be more convient? At this time I have 5-10 people who says that they will be fishing the 7am-2pm tourney. I am trying to get an idea on number of fisherman so I can get ahold of Paul Sleeper for the permit. As for Coralville bass my Dad and I won the Hawkeye Hooksetters tourney there on the 22nd with our limit of bass at 15.50#s. They’re there you just have to fish hard. Bear Creek is having an open tourney on the res May 13. Last year 1 fish took first place. $1800 to the winners. Well organized tourney and good people. Cedar river out of CR can be a good bite. Hooksetters has held many there and good fish have been caught but its more of a summer bite. As for Palo I was thinking of holding a paper tourney where you split up the teams and measure/weigh fish that are 15″ and of course bring in fish over 18″. You will still be a team and at end of tourney you add your measurements/weights combined w/partner and this determines winner. Like you said still working out details. Thanx, R.D.
