I agree with the others also…real nice cold weather bibs, watertight for the most part. But with any of their clothing it needs to be re-treated with a water repellant. My wife is under strict instructions to NEVER wash my Carharrt coats or bibs, no matter how dirty they get!

Jon, I added a snap on cover to mine after I bought it. It took us a couple hours and a 12-pak to put it on. I really like it for traveling in wet or dry weather, especially long trips. No worries about anything blowing out, but thats probably the case with any cover. The tension rods keep it tight going down the road, but it does block your view quite a bit. It is pretty easy to put on and take off, a little more work in colder temps, but not impossible. My snaps are on the side just above the rub rail (??), so I dont have any concerns about damaging them. If you want I can take some pics and send to you. I am glad I shelled out the extra cash for it and would do so again.

I have not fallen out of the boat yet, but I did have a base pull out of a rotten floor. I was up front on the platform and flopped over backwards, over the gear, tackle bags, cooler and whatever else was laying there. The guy I was with spilled more beer laughing at me than I did tipping over
    Serious though, glad your OK

We have a Canon powershot, I don’t remember the model offhand, but it would be compareable to the 550. It came with the necessary software and USB cable, pretty much plug & play on the computer. It may not be on your mind right now, but they make a decent printer for about a $100 that you could pick up later. Ours uses 2 AA batteries, the cheap ones don’t last long, we use good quality re-chargeable ones and get decent use before having to switch them. Good luck

I have an 02 1750 Fishhawk, it too, has plenty of a gassy smell in the rear compartments, and also is real noticeable when I un-snap the cover. A friend has an identical boat, his has it also. We haven’t been able to find any leaks either, just going to have to put up with it.

My wife and I have three accounts: mine, hers and house expenses.

That’s how it works at our house too…We contribute a little extra each payroll to maintain a cushion for some of the bigger bills like insurance premiums, taxes, etc. It works for us anyway, maybe not for everyone though

What are the rest of you guys that are running diesels adding to your fuel for added lubricity?

Is soy-diesel, or a soy additive available near you? Isn’t that one of the advantages to using it? Maybe check with a local farm co-op or bulk fuel station

Well, I was eager to try Jon’s quick fix last night too, but it was working ok. I did adjust the audio options anyway, but it worked no matter how it was set.

Kooty, we have Charter at home here also, I have had the same problem on our Fox channel #9. I can hear the crowd, but not the announcers, commercials and other channels also are fine, have only noticed it during Vikings games, But the strange thing is that it only happens on one of TV’s…I just figured it was that TV.

We got one of the Foodsaver models this past year also, I don’t remember which model, but we spent about a $100 on it. It has been pretty good for freezing/vacumm sealing. I did have some trouble with fish filets at first too (or anything that had a lot of moisture). Like the others said it is better with the fish to get them partially froze first. Overall I’m happy with it. I’ve spent money on dumber things

    Oh yeah, 110V only…

Thanks for your input guys!! These things are new to me and as usual I’m afraid I’ll be learning as I go. I didn’t realize how complicated these contraptions could be

If any one else has anything to add, feel free…

    Thanks, Todd

Good advice gentlemen Also, don’t forget the trailer, if it is also a 2000 model year, especially since it has been sitting for a while. Pull those wheel bearings and check the tires….

    Good luck on the water

Gary, yes, to answer your question. I have seen several sets of the “black” ones rusted through.
