My personal preference is 6 lb test in Kentucky, unless I am fishing areas where there is a lot of timber or weeds than I may reluctantly go to 8 lb test. If I fish lake Erie and the heavy reefs I will go to fire line with a floro-carbon leader in the 8 lb test range.

No not every year, but until I read several posts I did so every two years. I like the idea of reversing the line and think I will do that and save myself a bit of extra money.
