i have been fishing devils lake,we have been having success finding reed beds(they are every where),locating the out side weed edge in front of them, and slip bobber fishing that area,i look for breaks in the weeds(there is cabbage growing out in front of the reed beds)inside turns,or any other structure that looks good, give it 20 minutes or so,and move to the next likely looking spot.the weeds stop at 10 feet,so trolling cranks or bottom bouncers is a good way to locate active fish and then switch to slippys,FISH THE SIDE WHERE THE WIND IS BLOWING IN!you can catch fish in the calmer waters but they tend to be alot smaller

    another good one
An atheist was walking through the woods.
    “What majestic trees’!
    “What powerful rivers”!
    “What beautiful animals”!
    He said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charging down on him.

He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing on him.

He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer. He tripped & fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him.

At that instant the Atheist cried out, “Oh my God!”

    Time Stopped
    The bear Froze
    The forest was silent.

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky, “You deny my existance for all these years, teach others I don’t exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident. Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer”?

The atheist looked directly into the light, “it would be hypocrticial of me to sudenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make the BEAR a Christian”?

    “Very Well,” said the voice.

The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head and spoke: “Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen.”

Is bamboo flooring a good choice?
    Sept 2006
I am tearing out the carpet and would like to intall hardwood floor. I have heard about bamboo flooring but do not know anyone who have it at home so would like to get some opinion and where to get good buy and services. Wen

    ——————————————————————————–
We chose bamboo because we read that it was as hard as other woods, and because its look and environmental goodness. We regret it. We find that it dents and scratches easily. Part of the problem may be that we got the lighter colored bamboo (which is also not good for us because we are not super clean). Also, the color is uneven between batches (make sure your installers mix it well), and exposure to sun through the windows changes the color markedly (Where we have had rugs and where furniture has been positioned is obvious). Best of luck Dan

i do hardwood for a living, and the osb should be fine as long as you install across the floor joists,be carefull with the bamboo,it looks good out of the box,but is a softer wood and dents/scratches easy,if you have further questions, call me at 763-245-7753 tom bauer carpentry and flooring

the best hunting you will get is when you invest the time the night before to find out what fields these birds are using,as long as there is no major weater/wind changes..the birds will be back in the same fields first thing in the morning,to me time spent spotting is the most important thing in a sucessfull hunt.

was a family trip, but the fishing i did do wasnt to bad, went over to cattail/kettle lake 2 times for morning bites, and caught nice 18-22 inch walleyes both trips pulling cranks in 12-14 feet of water, total fish for the trip was 9 keeper walleye.(lots of perch/northern/smallmouth bass thrown in now and then)weather was great, and the kids had a blast tubing.

well, sure dont sound like I wanna mess around out at Indian point.Other spots ive fished at are on the south end,mar mar on the north end(i think thats the name)and caught a nice 261/2 inch walleye at agate rock reef on the notheast side, from Bobbers report it sounds like i should head out to the mud flats, but not sure which one to try get to.Is the trails going out to some of the mud flats?or do you just punch one into the gps and head staight out to it from your nearest access? Are you going out from Hunters point Bobber?
