    Update

I received an email from someone at Cold Nation who said they would replace the unit under warranty. Hats off to them. Only wish I had talked to this person on day 1.

I’m from Canada. They are $140 + Tax here. After I pay for shipping both ways and the cost of the replacement parts, I don’t know if it’s worth it.

Not sure. When I opened up the box. The blue plastic was broken and laying on the bottom of the box and the cord was still through the Velcro loop. Did it break while in the Velcro loop due to the vibration, or did it slip out and broke then, I don’t know.

The only thing I know for sure is that it’s fragile and in my opinion, the only safe way to transport it is to take it off the Vexilar and pack it away in a secure container which is going to be a real PITA. It’s going to be time consuming to use and if it’s that difficult to set up, how much will I use it going forward?

I sent them this picture showing how I had it mounted. I was told their testing showed it is durable at -20 degrees and that it must have been slammed against something for it to break. Funny how the Vexilar held up in the same box for years of trips and the minute I attach the ice defence to it, I’m too rough.

I did contact ice defence. They said they would repair it at my cost, even though it is brand new

I’ll be fishing a lot of bottom hugging fish. On the videos I’ve seen with the LS, you really can’t distinguish fish from the bottom. Once they rise up, different story

It was suggested to me that for the money, Skeeter would be my best bang for the buck. As for the boat, I would prefer a walk through windshield, and a 4 stroke

I’m hoping to keep the purchase under $35,000.
