I think the same…G2 split on his left side seems to be there on all the pics…he’s a dandy…good luck!

“It’s best to just let him finish!” Uncle Eddie – Christmas Vacation.
October 14, 2011 at 2:15 pm #112327That is a tank and a sure way not to get any sleep for the next month!
December 2, 2010 at 4:26 pm #95304He is a tank…I don’t know if I would be able to sleep at night knowing he was out there. Good luck with putting him down and getting any sleep what so ever!
October 29, 2010 at 7:14 pm #90723Your efforts should and likely will pay dividends…my brother, my father and myself made a pact some 7 years ago that the only bucks that get shot are the giants that are on the property. In the last 5 years we have shot 5 bucks (1 each year all these bucks have scored better than 130″ and the largest was a 167″. From all reports we will be chasing a buck bigger than all of the previous 5 this year. We hope to get the opportunity…
October 19, 2010 at 7:41 pm #89232Just goes to show why big bucks get big. Superior insticts keep them around year after year. Here’s hoping you get the opportunity…he may be the largest 3 X 3 I have ever seen.
October 19, 2010 at 7:33 pm #89229I may be taking 3 of them along with me this year.
First gun is a (1980’s) M77 Ruger .270, Bushnell Banner 1.75-4. It was my fathers gun that was handed down to me about 15 years ago. I hasn’t taken a deer in over 5 years but has a lot of history and has taken over 30 deer between my father and me. It is my good luck charm and back-up which I haven’t need yet…knock on wood.
Second is Browning A-bolt 7MM Stainless Stalker, Zeiss 3.5-10×44. I have used this gun exclusively for the past 6 or 7 years. Bought this to replace a Browning White Gold 7mm that I just couldn’t bring myself to use any longer as it was almost too pretty to hunt with.
Lastly…if it doesn’t sell before hunting season begins I am going to be tempted to take the Cooper Model 52 .270, Leupold 4.5-14X40 that I traded for last spring. Was looking to sell this before the deer season and posted it in the classified section on idofishing.com. Just haven’t found the right home for it and if no one takes it I am not going to let it be a safe-queen.
Those will be the 3 weapons of choice for rifle season. Once muzzleloading rolls around the CVA Accura will be making its 2nd annual appearance.
Good luck to all….less than 3 weeks!
October 14, 2010 at 1:53 pm #88623I would say yes….rack tendancies are way too similar to deny it…however by looking at the pictures he looks to have put on some weight…not to worry…
I am guessing he is planning on “burning” some of the extra pounds away during the rut.
He is a good looking deer!
October 8, 2010 at 2:07 pm #88071Love the Drowning Pool music selection…works well for archery season. The one to use when gun season rolls around is Click, Click, Boom by Saliva. Hope you will see some big bodies (and antlers) hit the ground on your ND visit.
Cheers!
October 6, 2010 at 5:10 pm #87842When asked how he was able to convince Randy Moss to once again join the Vikings owner Ziggy Wilf had three words for the media…..”Straight Cash Homey!”
September 27, 2010 at 6:38 pm #86794Time to dangle some noose’s in front of the sign that says NO TRESPASSING. Subtlety is not one of my strengths…sorry.
September 24, 2010 at 3:18 pm #86494Sickening feeling isn’t it? I can’t speak as an archer, but can speak as a rifle hunter. I can tell you when I lost my first it was a confidence crusher and more importantly a very valuable learning experience that I will always stick with me…think about it as natures reality check…
September 23, 2010 at 2:02 pm #86305Very nice indeed! Would love to see some hard-horn pics of this guy.
September 8, 2010 at 9:03 pm #72802Big time potential in that buck. One can only imagine how big he’ll get. Give me a fast-forward pic 2 years from now and I think he will be a jaw dropper.
January 8, 2010 at 3:39 am #74941This youngster is likely about 10 years overdue for a good spanking… and now that he is 17 needs to be taken out to the wood shed for a good ol’ fashioned a$$ whoop’n. Senseless act by a coward.
If Fred Bear were still alive and allowed to care for this delinquent he would have dropped him off with his bow on Kodiak Island, AK and told him to have a good time…and that he better make the first shot count.
December 23, 2009 at 4:13 am #73194I have been through 2 Thompson’s…a thumbhole laminate Omega and a Pro-Hunter both were good but not quite the right fit for me as my accuracy varied a little more than I liked as there was for me a little too much ‘play’ in the sights. This year I bought a CVA Accura and has exactly 6 rounds through it.
Expecting some adjustment needed I was absolutely astonished when first shot out of the box at 25 yards found the bullseye. Next 4 shots at 50 yards (again no adjustment) littered a 4 inch circle in the center of the target and finally my 6th and final shot at 100 yards found the bullseye 1″ left of center. All with open sights all without any adjustments. Easiest sight in I have ever done on any weapon.
So far the Accura has lived up to the hype as the most accurate muzzleloader I have ever shot…I got a 30 day money back guarantee with this claim and it is still with me as it lived up to its billing. Happy camper here with the CVA Accura.
December 4, 2009 at 9:48 pm #71290I am betting on a mount that includes an arrow through the head! I want to know if the arrow was a complete pass through or not…the picture doesn’t show an arrow, but I would be curious whether it was removed prior to taking a picture???
November 18, 2009 at 4:45 am #68946Firm believer here…and not only am I now a believer, but I have “converted” both my brother and father now as well. We are very fortunate to have hunted the same peice of land for over 20 years and with minimal hunting pressure we are allowed to practice QDM. If they aren’t mature we don’t even think about a shot…letting the small ones grow has paid real dividends over the past 6 years in particular. Results speak for themselves. 6 mature buck taken in the last 6 years ranging from 130″ class bucks all the way to 165″+ brute my brother took in 2006. We took 5 deer this year with 3 mature does and a single fawn. My dad has always been a good shot and has laid stake to the ‘dead eye’ award…this year 3 shots…3 ultra clean kills. The picture below was his 50th deer in 37 years of hunting this property…while not a monster by any means it is the definition of quality.
November 4, 2009 at 4:55 pm #66428Foley Locker, Inc. Grand Champion Meats. They make great Teryaki Sticks as well.
November 3, 2009 at 8:29 pm #66213I think this was the buck rumored to come off of Aho properties a couple weeks ago…I heard the rumor, but never seen pictures until I found some a couple days ago. Congrats the the hunter as that is a special buck with a rack that would make dolly blush. As I have said in other posts…HOLY MASS…and I ain’t even Catholic.
October 26, 2009 at 8:02 pm #64889Great buck and I agree about the second picture…I expect to see bigfoot in the next frame.
October 15, 2009 at 9:20 pm #63521He will spend the rest of his life pursuing something that big, but he will have a perminant memory of the one that didn’t get away. Good grief that is a monster!
October 8, 2009 at 11:56 pm #62514Not only is it a great looking mount…that thing is a brute of a buck…maybe there is a story behind the mount…
October 6, 2009 at 4:09 am #61855Can’t wait to see the score on this one…a grand typical to be sure…I want to say somewhere between 175 and 185 net.
