I was out last Saturday (12/17) on a south metro lake. The slush was almost frozen solid – small guys could walk across it while big guys would bust through the crust. It should be solid by now. Ice thickness was about 5-7 inches.
I bought the 5# tank that way I don’t have to refill 1# cylinders in my uninsulated and unheated garage. The tank was a little expensive but it is still light to carry. This worked better for my situation, but I am starting to wonder if I need a second 5# tank.
Any one able to share reports on ice thickness? I assume people aren’t driving onto the ice yet, but are there locations [especially any in the south metro] where someone can walk out to fish?
