    Got mine for Christmas…can’t wait to get it installed and try it out on Lake Vermilion…I can think of a number of ways this is going to make things much easier..staying on humps in the middle of Niles, crappie spots in deep water, etc…
    Only 86 days till the opener…going to need some practice time prior though.

    Grew up fishing near the dam on Vermilion. We now have a place in Niles Bay. Gary is right, the lake is full of walleyes…just need to adapt to them. Most of us get use to going after them just one or two ways. Thanks for the alternative ideas Gary and the reminders….see you on the water!!

    ok…it has been awhile since I have posted on this site…never thought my son’s new auger problems; an early Christmas present from his girlfriend (certainly a keeper with this gift), would cause such a great response. My only concern is that if Peta is monitoring this sight, you will have your hands full James…
    As an aside, the new series on ice fishing is great…not just two guys pulling fish through the ice, but excellent training on electronics, maps, location, techniques, baits etc.
