I’m a fan of cut on contact broaheads with a 3 to 1 ratio in a 2 blade single bevel configuration. They are also expensive but the penitration is unmatched out of a trad setup. However it does take much more tuning to get them to fly. The single bevel helps with arrow rotation and will even rotate harder by hitting bone and penetrate through it causing penitration no matter the circumstances. A good broadhead will cost up in that range but when the deer of a lifetime is standing there the price should be the last thing on your mind.

I am all traditional. I put down the wheels after shooting several deer. Have definatly found it to be very challenging and even get the urge to get the wheels again but that’s the fun in it. Since the switch it has been a year round challenge. From making my own bows and arrows in the off season to stump shooting looking for sheds I have found it very rewarding.I wish that others would consider the switch it has definatly made a better hunter.

I know a guy that has several large mullies under his belt. He has told me that their ears are 22-24 inches wide when layed flat on a mature buck. Looks like he’s over 30 for sure!

My guess would be at minimum 3.5. To much mass and body for 2.5 but just my opinion.

There’s always next time. I use velcro (the soft side) works great and very cheap.
