I have used seaguar blue label, red label and berkley vanish. The vanish and blue label have been good. I don’t care for the red label due to knot issues and breaking while cinching knots tight.

Folks that are saying 10 feet, need to re-read that regulation. The regulation only applies to a shelter. Nothing about the minimum distance between anglers.
I have had ice chips hitting my portable from someone drilling a hole that close to where I was set up and actively fishing. As to the op’s question I would probably avoid the area and try to find somewhere else not because I think they own that spot just that I prefer to do my own thing and not move in on others.
Foley has been 2.88 for weeks now. Just last night the KT on 15 in sartell was 20 cents higher than the holiday right across the street. I got gas at Sam’s for 2.51

They cancelled my kids school already about 6 tonight. We are in the heavier band but we will see what we get.seems to be trending south may have been a bit premature. Royalton right?
Yes Royalton. They seem to take every chance they can to have a snow day. I saw sauk rapids was regular start this morning.
2 hour delay for the kid’s school tomorrow

If you hang the heater could you put some reflective type insulation above it to help prevent burning a hole in the roof?
Captain, try a rough service bulb for old school trouble lights for the fridge. You can get them in 100w non LED.
I just put a set of Cooper discover road+trail on my f-150. Have duratrac’s on my other truck but wanted more of a A/T tire that’s quiet, good wet and hopefully snow traction since this truck is more of a DD. Also went with an XL load rating for towing. Only have about 1k miles on them but so far they seem fine for my needs.
Tragic story that could have been prevented. I try to teach my kids about ice safety and explain why we can’t go sometimes even tho others are out on the lake. My son was on red Sunday with some friends. Resorts were allowing ATV’s and had roads staked. Even with all that they were finding thin ice. One spot they set up in had 8in on one side of the house and 4in on the other. You just never know especially early ice.
Those of you having issues with 20lb tanks are you pushing down on the knob to let the line purge? I use 20lb and 10lb tanks with a 5ft hose and have never had it take more than 5min if that to purge the line and get the heater going.
I have 2 big buddies and 1 regular. Never an issue with them and we use them for hunting as well. The thing I did was make a stand for them with 2×4’s and plywood to keep it off the ice and making things wet. I also built it so the 2×4’s fit the width of the recesses in my sled so it stores easier.
Where I live we have 1/2 acre lots and my neighbor has chickens. It’s nice because we get our eggs from him and the chickens stay in his yard for the most part. He had one get out and it came in our yard when our dog was out. It was one of those moments where you’re proud your bird dog went after and caught it but then had to explain things to the neighbor. Last I heard the chicken is still alive and we have good neighbors who understood the situation.
This was for an air bag deployment on both sides so had to do seat belt stuff which required removing the seats.
Also since we are talking about fixing vehicles. I found a gun in the center counsel on this job as well as other jobs. If your going to leave them in your vehicle please remember to take them out if you need service work done.
Lots of good info here but one thing I will add from the body side of things. We have flat rates and judgment rates. For example to replace a fender there is a rate for that but to repair it that would be a judgment rate by the estimator or insurance adjuster. Like mentioned about overhead being covered by the labor rates there are also wages for employees that don’t directly turn wrenches. Office staff while important doesn’t get to bill for their time so their wage comes out of the labor rate as well. Shops get paid by the job so if labor hours aren’t being billed people don’t get paid.

Nice to see Pesty’s on BW list. My cousin is the manager there.Maria by chance? Pesty’s is a great place the service is really top notch. THey always have great specials for lunch too and its hard to beat a grilled cheese and chili for 7.95.
That would be her.
I agree about the St. Cloud area not having much. We occasionally go to Texas Roadhouse since it’s always consistent. Last time we were at boulder tap house was horrible and they usually are consistent as well but haven’t been back since. My son works at a bar close to home and they have been having to cut back both kitchen and bar hours recently due to understaffing issues. Nice to see Pesty’s on BW list. My cousin is the manager there.
I live by a lake in central mn that has about 5in already. There has been about 50 houses or more out Saturday and Sunday when I have drove by.
In regards to rates going up for an auto claim I was talking to a progressive adjuster recently about a truck we had in the shop. The owner tried to miss a deer and hit a mailbox instead. I made a comment about how it might have been cheaper to hit the deer due to some of the parts costs and he said if he hit the deer it would have been a comp claim instead of collision and his rates wouldn’t go up because of it. I’m not sure how insurance companies decide to raise rates after claims but I was unaware there was a difference in the type of claim. I thought a claim was a claim on your record.
Another way to save a little money is see if your provider offers a discount if you pay 6mo at a time instead of monthly. We have progressive and pay that way and we save a couple hundred a year.
I had a lab/springer mix that lived outside in a kennel year round. The first winter I had him we put straw in his house and a plastic flap over his house door before the first real cold snap. By the next morning he had ripped off the plastic flap, kicked out most of the straw and way laying on that outside in sub zero temps happy as could be. Like B-man said dogs are very resilient.
Hopefully there are not any ICOG members here to hear you talk like that about their precious ice castles.
I also have an ice castle and share your same opinion.
As far as kids and wet feet it can happen with both set ups. I have 3 boys and they have all managed to step in a hole both with portables and permanents. Good boots will solve the issue for when their feet stay on top of the ice.
We are shotgun zone but my son hunts at his girlfriends in rifle zone and uses hornady sst 120g in 7mm-08. He has shot 2 deer with them and neither went far but very little blood. This years deer he took out the top of the heart and still little blood. I have a lot of that ammo so it will be awhile before running out but when I do I will probably switch.
Scheels has some on sale. Discount varies by how much the safe costs.
I have streamlight HL-X series and an O-light Odin for my nicer lights. They are more than your budget but you wanted a light that worked and these always work for me. I have some that get little use but I check regularly and I’m going on over a year maybe two without changing or charging batteries. Some of mine are duel fuel so they take rechargeable or regular batteries. One thing about the more expensive lights most have warranties or are repairable if something happens instead of just throwing them away.
Another thing to consider is light throw or beam. Everyone talks about lumes and how you need a million just to see but what are you trying to see? My son has a spot light and it outshines my expensive lights but you can only see a 10-15ft circle where my lights I can see a lot more of my surroundings.
We hunt 277 and our cameras seem to be getting less pics than last year but opening weekend there was a lot of shooting especially sat morning. We have been able to be selective on what we have shot in the past with an 8pt rule and no fawns. This year we changed it to just no fawns. We are meat hunters first. We got 2 does and saw 6 does and 1 buck total. We had a lot of coyotes on cam last year and saw them while hunting (unfortunately didn’t shoot any) this year they have been rare on cam and only 1 seen while hunting.
My son also hunts with his girlfriends family in 221 and they have been having a good year with mature bucks and does. Their hunting property is right at the house so they have easy access all season but have been seeing deer most sits all season long (archery and firearm)
There was a lot of shooting around me this morning. Close to 75 shots maybe more. The 3 neighbors shot at least 12 times combined.
Slow for us. I had a doe show herself for a second before disappearing in the cattails and my son saw a buck 300yds away. Lots of shooting around us. Hoping for a better evening hunt.
