Steve, I do a lot with history projects here in Bloomington. The city has thousands of old slides in their archive. We asked for permission to copy them and they hauled them out for us. We copied over 1500 and they came out great. I also have used it for my personal slides. I bought the digital copy unit on e-bay or Amazon for $65.00. It is called Imagelab and I have had great luck with it. Easy to use. Good luck!

I visit my mom every Mother’s Day and bring her flowers. I bring some for Grandma and two of my great-grandmothers, too. They are all at the same place, in a beautiful old churchyard in Wisconsin.
April 22, 2009 at 11:14 pm #770438My 20 HP Evin was doing the same thing last year. Took it into Dan’s Marine in Bloomington, cost $100.00, in and out in a day, runs fine.
SwedeAugust 20, 2007 at 2:42 pm #601528What a great game. The Coon Rapids pitcher had 10 or 11 strikeouts in 6 innings. Great control.
CR plays Chandler, Arizona, Tuesday night at 7:00.
This series is my favorite baseball.
Congrats Coon Rapids!!!!!

August 6, 2007 at 7:00 pm #597466Hi Mark,
There is a fairly large sunken island in Cross that does not show up on the paper maps. When coming up from the south end of the lake and entering the main lake, you will pass the long point on your left and then see the islands to your left. Keep heading straight up the main lake bearing slightly to the right and watch your depth. When you start to shallow-up, slow down and cruise the area to find the hump. It is about 10 or 12 feet deep if I remember. The top of this thing must be 100 yards or more, south to north. We caught most of our fish on the south and west drops using Lindy’s and crawlers or leeches.
Be sure to take your family into Trout Lake. It’s a beauty.
Good Luck! SwedeJuly 24, 2007 at 3:21 pm #593399Hey, Pete,
How about a little more info for those of us who do most of our fishing in dream world sitting at the computer.
Like; river? lake? trolling? speed? lure? bait? time on water? etc.?
Thanks, SwedeJune 21, 2007 at 12:06 am #582775I have used Spiderwire Stealth for the last 3 years. I like 20 pound test/ 6 pound diameter. Really good stuff for trolling. Saves a lot of cranks because it pulls them off the logs. And, you don’t have to “set the hook,” because it doesn’t stretch.
SwedeJune 13, 2007 at 5:56 pm #580312Hey, welcome Rat!
How about giving us a report on what you used, where you fished and what the outcome was? Next week? I’m going up to stay at Wabedo sometime in July and will probably end up for at least a day on Woman.
Thanks, SwedeMay 31, 2007 at 7:53 pm #576767Thanks for being a coach, Dart. I started coaching my son in hockey when he was 4 years old. Now, I am still coaching basketball and soccer to both boys and girls. Oh, that first hockey team was over 40 years ago. And, my son has coached fast-pitch and basketball with his kids.
Fishing and coaching are the best!!!!!
Thanks, again,
SwedeMay 23, 2007 at 12:46 am #573986Hi Mark,
I’ve used Stealth for the last couple years for just about everything. I think it is great. No stretch line with a 7′ rod make for a good hook set, and then a fun fight.
Yup, use planers a lot, too. Church is the one I use, but there may be better.Swede
May 23, 2007 at 12:32 am #573979Thanks, guys!
I found a DNR map which shows great structure. I was there with my parents over 50 years ago, and Dad and I pulled Lazy Ikes and Flatfish at night. We caught a lot of walleyes and they were a lot bigger than 12 inches, if I remember right.
We’ll give Little Boy a try.
Thanks, again,
SwedeMay 22, 2007 at 5:58 pm #573868So, I’m thinkin’, 20 grand for a boat rig, another two grand for rods, tackle, electronics. And, you’ll need a big 4×4 and lots of gas, bait, and …
How about this; You call James, and for $350 bucks or so, you and a friend or two can split the cost, meet him at the landing and spend the day him, not only catching, but learning, too. All this with no boat, trailer, E-tech, gas, tackle, bait ………… only a license and expectations for a good time. He cleans the fish, too.
And, if his stuff breaks down, it’s his problem.
I often wonder about us fisherman.
SwedeMay 3, 2007 at 2:23 pm #567421Jon,
You’re just a great guy for what you did. Good fishing tonight!

April 11, 2007 at 9:59 pm #559799Bobby,
Can I go? Can I go? Can I go? Worked at Valley View Middle School for 2 years and live in east Bloomington. Hauling up walleyes is almost as much fun as keeping 13 year olds from pitching someone over the side.
Want to know about me? Ask Kuhns. He knows me from summer blast. He hired me in the summer so I could have some money for minnows and gas. Might know some of your kids. I’ve coached BAA hockey, soccer and basketball for over 30 years.
Swede, AKA “Coach”March 28, 2007 at 5:00 pm #554342Took the bus up to Temple Bay from Minneapolis a few years ago. Great owners, great food, [no, better than that, the food was excellent], great cabin, great service, great docking, great boats and motors, great dock boys, LOUSY fishing.
I think we were there at the end of May. The walleyes were scattered. The guides were running their parties with 75 h.p. engines for about an hour to get to the fish.
If you go, think about driving yourself and saving the bus fee. Riding the bus with all the stops was not as cool as it sounds. Better to plan your own stops.
Don’t forget your passport! There is a 10 week waiting period now.Swede
