Bay point is still frozen as of 1 pm today. The only option at covill is the N landing as the south landing is under water and the parking lot is shrinking fast.

I want to sent out a thanks to Barry for coming down to Red Wing and shareing a day in my boat on pool 4. We had a good time and put some fish in as well. My first spot was a major let down but put it together at the end.

I did see you on the water jeff but forgot to say hello.

Again thanks Barry for a fun time.

I kept only 3 fish all year due to swollowed crank baits. swollowed hooks cut line and let go but cranks will not come out.

I have used bounce sheets for years and never a mouse or other kritters. I also remove everything from the boat and leave compartments open

During pre-fish I had 3 overs 22,19,18.5. On day 1 I had 1 over 20.25 along with 4 13.5s. On day 2 I had 7 fish just under 18 (heartbreakers) and came in with 5 13.5s. My partner Moreyes had a 26.75 on day 2 that went 7.5 lbs and 1 just over 18 on day 3. So we had 6 overs combined for pre-fish and tourney days.

Now that I got the truck and boat unloaded I would like to take a moment to thank a couple of people, Terry Filkins an IDO guy, we met last year at the NPAA last winter, he asked me if I wanted to fish the leugue together, he is Tour co guy, I said sure what the heck share expenses and help each other out with no strings attached, he is great guy. We both made the championship, and he missed the top 10 cut by ounces , bumped by the second to the last guy to weigh friday.

A little story previuos to the above, prior to the Red Wing I nearly cut a finger off my left hand, unable to fish with a cast I backed out. And with that I decided to pull out of the series, missing a event is big hole to dig out of to make the chamionship, well Terry had a cabin rented at Leach Lake for him and 3 other tour guys, John Schnieder, Bill Hyska and Nick Schertz, so Terry talked me to come up and prefish, well while there I figured what the heck I enetered and got 17th and then a 24th at Bemdji finishing 26th overall making the BIG SHOW.

This year I met a couple of great guys along the way, John Scheider, Bill Hyska and Nick Schertz. And learned some stuff along the way

So again thanks Terry, John, Bill and Nick

    Thanks Kirt,

It was alot of fun working together with a good finish and looking forward to next year.

Well done Kirt, you’ll look great in that shiny new 621.

Congrats to you and Terry both! It was fun having you guys around…I hope you come back again now that the pressure’s off!

    Thanks, Jason

Both Kirt and I thought we would both be fishing on Sat but I got knocked out by 3 oz 2nd to last guy . The backyard gem sure was a fun puzzle to figure out. I am now getting ready for Bismarck and leave on Wed to pre-fish with Nick Schertz.

after I get back we need to get together and log a few hours on the gem and pool 4. Holly cow talk about some stong whisker fish and giant smallies .

I called and talked to Lesa today and she did get it. A canned email should have been sent to the replies to save time on they’re end. Now she has everyone calling and she has to take time to look it up. When you call you are on hold for 10 min because she is looking up the person that called just before you did.

I to had spent a fair amount of time in the little lake. I can now delete some way points and start over.
By the way I had about a foot of clearance going under the bridge. Just had to take my butt seat down. I had less room at Cass.

Last year I had a 10″ top raider sink so deep into my left index finger that the barb was into the bone. When it went into my finger it was still hooked to a 40″ class Muskie. I was lucky the fish came off at that time. 2 hours of surgey and $3500.00 later the bait is now on my wall.
