Highly unusual my comments here considering my current username, but, when John (owner/partowner?) of TUCR came to my garage to pickup some wood flooring for a project years ago and did the usual BSing us fishing guys do, seemed like a real genuine dude. Wood was for a honey do list project many of us have for the wifey, as I speculate to help gain points for the next fishing trip. Fished the same areas and lakes I’m sure many of you here also fish, co-owned a boat with his dad at the time if I recall correctly, and offered to have our kids meetup some time on a cool bite I didn’t know too much about which I never did call him on. At the time he employed local talent, and had IMO some pretty awesome job perks that were available to all of them to borrow and use.

Seems there is some disdain towards this company for possible instances here that wasnt in John’s control. Hate to see a good local company, and as stated show (that you all love!) sponsor get tarnished.

    Haters will always be haters.

From the first time I contacted TUCR I was amazed of the customer service. Top notch to say the least.

I ended up buying 4 rods and when they arrived at my door I was simply amazed. Great rods.

I will be buying more soon and telling all my colleagues about this amazing company that purduces a quality product!

I’ve got multiples from all three and I prefer the DH Al Dente, Light Tripwire and Precision. All three different applications but I feel those 3 rods are all I need. The perch sweetheart is a really nice rod, but I like the precision more. Now I just wish TUCR would offer their rods without recoils… whistling

May I ask why you prefer regular guides instead of recoil ones?

If only 2% are having an issue then they should stay behind their product and fix it free of charge for those 2%……..

Predator and hardwater jackets XL both fit me fine. Climate was too tight. XXL in climate fit ok. Seemed to long and bulky in sleeves though.

I did not try on bibs though.

My carhart bibs I had altered and shorted. Cost was $10. Cheap for me and worked great to have them shortened. Now I’m not the guy wearing bibs with the saggy back end, stepping on my cuffs.

Funny how the climate jacket was tight? Liner maybe?

I’ll be “that guy” who says Mickey Boots. I’ve been trying to ditch mine for 5 years and always on the look for new boots but just can’t do it. They just do everything you could ask for in an <em class=”ido-tag-em”>ice fishing boot with absolute zero maintenance and at about half the price of every other option.

I’m sure there’s better boots out there but every pair I’ve looked at has something that annoys me when compared to Mickeys. Mickeys are just so simple and durable but still perform in the harshest conditions of ice fishing.

They are the best! Bunny boot may look funny but dam warm

Awesome show guys. Curious what specs of mono line we’re you using. Also, it’s not that I don’t like seeing your pretty faces, but I absolutely love watching the fish come in on the marcum. I makes me feel like I’m there. I might’ve set the hook with you on a couple of em! toast

James was using #6 suffix advance mono……I asked via youtube

So I too was looking at TUCR and wondering which model.

I sent them a message on Facebook and they were a great help and pointed me in the right direction.

Give it a shot, they are great folks

I’m curious to when you would pick a rippin rap over a slab rap or visa versa, I picked up a few of both today to try. and can’y wait to try them.

    Rippin rap = rattles

    Slab rap = no rattles

Do you need them? No. are they nice? Yes. Do you need that fancy flasher in your profile photo? is it nice? I think it’s funny that a guy ( not any guy in particular) will buy a $30,000 boat and gripe about a $150 fishing rod. Sorry…venting.

    Agreed!!!!

Just make sure your reel has a great drag! Shimano and Daiwa make great drags so you cant go wrong with either of those brands.

May I ask what rods you replaced those with? I am looking at getting into custom rods this year.
