Went to the range Saturday and prior to shooting the Hellcat w/ WASP, I marked the WASP mounting screws for reference. After shooting about 50 rounds, the screws didn’t move. So, the correct screws from SA were the answer.
Love the pistol and the optic.
    Great job Springfield.
    Happy Shooting.

I had the issue with the WASP optic flying off and putting a gash in my forehead. I now have a permanent scar. I sent Hellcat to SA and all they did was sent the correct screws. Took about 2 weeks. :(. The real problem was the poor service from FedEx on the return. That added another week to my return. FedEx driver allowed a neighbor to sign for my package and then proceeded to drop package on my from porch. That was totally against the law. It was then a firearm free for the taking. If you ever send something to SA, do not allow them to return via FedEx.
So, installed WASP yesterday and that went well. I purchased a FAT torque screwdriver to make sure I had 15 inch/pounds on the screws. Going to the range Saturday with a welding helmet on just in case we have another frequent flyer. LOL
    Happy shooting.

So, does anyone know what Springfield is doing to remedy the issue? Are they just sending longer screws or are they sending a new slide with heavier screws?
I just sent my Hellcat off today and was wondering what to expect.
Any and all comments are appreciated.

I put 25 rounds thru my Hellcat a week a go. No issues. This past weekend,I installed the WASP. First shot at the range….yep, gash on the forehead. Sent SA an email and they immediately replied with an RMA to fix the slide as the threads are stripped out. When installed, torqued at 15 inch pounds per manual. In their reply I was told to use the new screws that they will be sending with the repaired slide. So, I guess they are now aware that there is a problem. Hopefully no one gets seriously injured.
