I also run tekotas on my dipsy rods, they are great. The only down side is the $170 price tag. Okuma convectors are solid reels that cost $70. I run 10 color on a 45 backed with braid. They are larger than the tekotas for the line capacity vs physical size. Hold one for your self, I think they feel better than the sealine or any other reel in that price range.

Also, dont know how much lake Michigan experience everyone has but with the mid 70’s high temps dont forget to bring extra layers for the off shore temps. I have been in my ice fishing gear in the summer on occasion. Dont think its going to be like that, just a helpful hint.

I was out last Saturday, lines set by 5:30 due to alarm clock issues. Soaked baits for hours, 2pm took a bow and lake trout on 5 color with an orange spoon in 110fow. Deep program was dead. Moved into 50fow in front of the harbor 2 lake trout and a coho in 30 min on 2 color. Called it a day at 6pm. Fished 50-170, I strongly agree with reports that fish are higher in the column coming on spoons.

Hey guys, this is samlon steve. I didn’t know we had a thread going to confirm spots until today. I have not been on this sight since I transferred jobs shortly after the annual red wing trip (cant wait till next year!) I thought I had a spot set up weeks ago when committed to this trip. I have (2) 9′ shamono braid dipsys set up(can be a rigger set up), (2) lead core set up, 1s.w.r. 2 color that can be ran as a board rod. I have a boat but its only set up for 2 people to fish and didn’t make travel accommodations that included my crappie truck and rig. I’d much appreciate a spot if anyone has one. Be nice to also directly talk talk to if you do.
