I’ve done two sets of bunks on different trailers. I just went to MENARDS and picked up some Marine Carpeting, that they cut off of the 12 ft. wide roll. I did one 8 years ago and one 3 years ago and have no problems with either set of carpeting on the bunks. I did put new bunks on, too.
January 26, 2021 at 11:28 pm #2009802And that’s just one reason I feel blessed to have them as one of my sponsors.
November 8, 2019 at 11:00 pm #1889910Steve & Sharon,
I feel like there’s no need to say thank you. I truly believe that friends are there for friends. Both known and unknown. This IDO group is like family and we’re there to help and support each other for whatever the needs and/or reasons may be. Take care and God bless Steve, Sharon and the entire IDO family!!
November 4, 2019 at 10:57 pm #1888965Sharon, please accept my most heartfelt and deepest sympathy. May God bless you and the entire family with all the healing and strength needed during this most difficult time. You all will be my/our thoughts and prayers.
October 27, 2019 at 11:08 pm #1887237I’d suggest Petenwell. I’ve always done better there in the Fall. Just a suggestion. If you get out, stay safe and tight lines.
September 23, 2019 at 11:32 pm #1880675i never put any of my boats away for Winter. I/we use them all Winter long.
September 22, 2019 at 11:36 pm #1880481I’d suggest giving Dale Stroschein and Wacky Walleye Guide Service. Dale was inducted into the National Fresh Water Hall Of Fame, just a few years ago. His entire staff is outstanding! He also gives fishermen discounts, for staying at his resort. Even if you don’t stay there or use his Guide Service, he or his wife are more than willing to let you know where the bite is doing good and he’ll even mark it/them on a map for you. Just a suggestion.
December 2, 2018 at 11:07 pm #1814558B-Y Plastics. We’ve been using them exclusively, with great success for the last 5 years. It’s a small 2 m an operation. But, their plastics are sold almost everywhere in this area.
November 7, 2018 at 9:47 pm #1808433Tomato soup is a gotta have with grilled cheese for me. Use a variety of cheeses. Just depends what I’m in the mood for. I always use mayo, instead of butter/margrine. Tastes so much better.
October 12, 2018 at 12:56 am #1803171B-Y BAITS. GREAT plastics for panfish! They offer a wide variety of plastics. Been using them for several years now and have had great success using them through ice or open water. I also use Prescott Plastics with very good results.
July 19, 2018 at 11:25 pm #1786663Was there yesterday(Wed.). Water is still high and pretty dirty, too. We had a pretty fair day. Fished the WI side all day. Ended up catch and releasing walleyes of 21 1/2, 21 3/4, 22 and 24 1/2. Caught quite a few in the 13 – 14 3/4 range, too. Nice to see the younger year classes in the system. Caught a variety of different sized saugers. Kept 2, both at about 15 inches. Even managed to catch some really nice crappies, while trolling, too. Kept 4, between 11 and 13 1/2 inches. Caught only 1 real small white bass, 1 mud cat that was about 7 lbs. And, what would a day on Pepin be like, without catching a sheephead and we ended up catching 4. Fished from about 8 – 3. It was a GREAT day to be out there!! Colors that worked best for us this day, were lures having a gold and/or a chrome body in size 7 of whichever lure(s) we decided to go with. Stay safe, good luck, tight lines and may you have a busy net. Take care, everyone.
February 24, 2017 at 1:07 am #1676442I talked with a store manager last week and he told me they’re not closing. It’s more of a re-structuring thing. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out.
December 16, 2016 at 10:53 pm #1657824One of my most popular and most requested crock pot meals this time of year, is potato soup. It is SO GOOD while on the ice or once we get home. Usually doesn’t survive for a second meal.
November 23, 2016 at 10:28 pm #1652347I’ll be frying 2, 12 lb. turkey’s that I smoked today, along with 2 roasted pheasants and 3 lbs. of sauger and walleye fillets. Gotta have all the regular other Thanksgiving good stuff, too.
November 8, 2016 at 10:30 pm #1649541x2 for the ARE topper. IMO, stay away from Jason toppers! Have one on one of my trucks and had some real issues with it. I called the company itself and actually talked with the owner’s/president’s son. He/they would not even listen to what the problem is/was that I’m having. He told me ” I don’t have the time to deal with you. I have 12 other callers!” VERY rude and they don’t stand behind their product!! Pretty sad that a person spends over $1300 of their hard earned money on one of their toppers, has problems with it and they could care less!! It was on the truck when I got it. I CAN PROMISE one thing for sure! I will NEVER own another Jason ANYTHING!! I’m getting an ARE put on next week!!!!
October 30, 2016 at 10:29 pm #1647963Lake Gogebic in the UP. Made a trip there last Winter and now I’m pretty sure that we’ll never go back to Devil’s Lake ND.
July 31, 2016 at 9:47 pm #1631640Both lakes are West of Minocqua. Squirrel is apporox. 15 miles and Squaw is 23 miles and they are both South of Hwy. 70. Squirrel does have some LM bass in it, as well as crappies and pretty nice bluegills. Squaw has a pretty mixed bag. It’s a Class A muskie lake, but has some nice northerns, an abundance of eater size walleye, some nice perch and a lot of crappies(some platter size, average is about 11″ though). For both LM and SM, Lake Minocqua would be a good choice. Lake Tomahawk could be another choice. I’d strongly suggest the Willow Flowage for a good all around fishery. To the east of Minocqua, there’s Big St. Germain and Big Arbor Vitae Lakes. Both are very good LM bass and crappie waters. Just a few suggestions from my personal experiences of having a family cabin on Squaw Lake for about 40 years. Hope this info helps you out a little. Have a fun, safe trip and tight lines.
May 6, 2016 at 10:37 pm #1617901Love seeing the comments about the Not Your Father’s products! I work at the brewery that produces those products. Yes, I do drink both. The ginger-ale is good right out of the bottle/can, as is the root beer. However, I do have to say that I like the ginger-ale over ice or in a frosted mug better. The root beer is also great when poured over vanilla ice cream! BEST damn root beer float you’ll ever have!! A lot of our local bars sell the floats as a drink, too. Enjoy the Not Your Father’s products and bottoms up!!
April 1, 2016 at 11:08 pm #1610988Although, because of the distance this is from my home I won’t be participating. However, I’d strongly encourage doing the Photo Weigh-In System. Just like is done on the Pro AIM Circuit. We hold a local weekly walleye club tournament every Thursday late afternoon/evening. We’ve been using the photo weigh-in since we first started a few years ago, with no complaints and/or problems. Just a suggestion! That way the fish go right back and stand the best chance for survival and future generations. Good luck, stay safe and tight lines to all who participate.
February 14, 2016 at 7:28 pm #1599870May I suggest you take a look at the FISHGILLZ line of glasses. I’ve been using them exclusively for the past 4 years. On the water and ice. I absolutely LOVE them! I used to use Oakley’s and Costa’s and after using the FISHGILLZ line, I will never use any others. Here’s some reasons why. 1)They are 100% USA made. 2)They only weigh 1/2 an ounce. 3)Price. None are over $60 and there’s FREE shipping ALWAYS. 4) With every pair comes the case and cleaning cloth. 5)They float. Even IN the case. No, I’m not sponsored by them. I just like to suggest a GREAT product. BUT, not until I’ve had the chance to use them for awhile first. They aren’t available in stores. Only on their website. A few times a year the also offer Buy One Pair, Get One Free! Just a suggestion and another possible option for you.
January 21, 2016 at 9:04 pm #1594482I’ve been running Loadstar and/or Towmax tires on all my boat trailers for over 10 years and have NEVER had any issues/problems with them at all. These rigs aren’t just used occasionally, either. They are on the road 5 – 7 days a week, pretty much year round. Look them up on the TRAILER PARTS SUPERSTORE website. That’s who I’ve always got them from. Just suggestions and other options.
