Odd deal. Skipped a dock with a Ned rig and caught a 16 in walleye. Thought it was a crappie at first. Kinda cool

I’m a bit slow to this technique, I’m sure. Fished with guys that can skip docks with jigs and baitcasters. I’m not good at this. I usually skip with a senko-style bait. Today, I split the difference and skipped a Ned rig. It worked really well. You can teach an old dog new tricks. Good luck. Best fishing is ahead.

About 6 years ago I went down to my boat on the lift. 8 rod combos and all my tackle boxes stolen. The thing that irritated me is that they left one combo behind. Kinduva slap in the face. Thought it was as nice as the ones they stole.

I just got a VX Premium chip. I wanted it for my G2 Helix 9. It wouldn’t work. Put it in my Helix 10 G3 or 4. Worked like a charm. Called HB. It won’t work in G2. My fault for not reading the fine print. I’m sure they would like me to buy a new Helix for the chip to work on the wheel.

I like the Gulp sinking minnows. They aren’t tough, but I like ‘em because they sink pretty fast. The peanut butter color works for me. Good luck.

Had a Maxxum- in fact just saw it in the garage today, an Ultrexx when they first came out, and now an Ultrexx Quest. Steering is very responsive, quiet, and powerful. Very happy. Just hope I don’t break as many of the pull cords as I have in the past. Flying through the air in the boat isn’t fun. Good luck

Not a bad time to Wade fish smaller rivers. The water is going down slowly. My in laws live on the Crow Wing river. Sometimes the smallies are decent with a bonus walleye. The water feels refreshing. Lots of recreational boaters out on weekends now

I was born there in 1968. My brother fished a tourney on Sunday. They got second and got their fish on jigging raps in 18-24 fow Whetstone Bay. Good luck.

Ive got the Ultrex Quest. It’s heavy and excellent. Fast and strong. About throws me out of the boat if I turn it up too high. Had the original Ultrexx that I liked. This is a bit better.

Finally started getting some better ones on the outside weed line on Tx rigged chigger craws. Docks are picking up, too, up here.

I use a Tx rigged crazy leg chigger craw quite a bit in weedy areas. Works great for me. Never been a huge fan of a jig or swim jig. I’m a one trick pony who needs to mix it up a bit I suppose. Good luck.

Don’t know how they pulled that off. KAT and McDaniels were great. They score better than the Twins lately.

Had best luck on a chatter bait in 5 fow or less. Pike love em , too. Only got bit off once. Hazy day. Had to go early before Mother’s Day brunch. My daughter was the server. Kinda funny. She got a good tip.

Most stressful days of the year are towing the pontoon from Winter storage and putting away in the Fall on a scissors trailer. Used a bunk trailer once. They are great.

Smothering defense like I’ve never seen. Refs let em play, too. Physic-cal to say the least. Intense. Can’t believe the Nuggets coach didn’t get T’d up in the first half walking out on the court.

Hadn’t targeted crappies for years. Went out yesterday and realized I was missing out. 48 degree water on the Whitefish chain. They were hitting in6-8 fow on small x raps and an under spin jig with small paddle tail. Couple were over 14. It was such a nice day finally so I let ‘em all go. Stopped at Subway on the way home instead. Livescope was handy to follow the school around. Good luck.

I fish it a lot in the Fall into October. Not many huge smallies, but good numbers of 2-3 pounders. A few dead heads to look out for. A few stray walleyes, pike and cats caught. Some nice LMB, too. Don’t tell anyone.

Got it installed. Looks pretty rugged. Unfortunately, it’s nice during the work week and looks like crummy weather this weekend. Ice almost off the lake. Good luck

I’m always confused when right after ice out they hit great. About a week before the spawn they are hard to find.

Getting mine next week. Thought there’d be a little more chatter. I’ll let you know what I think. Open water next week I hope.

Mine goes on next week. I have a 360 and lives scope. Been through 3 pull cables breaking on my original Ultrexx. Terrible feeling as you fly through the air. The lift assist is supposed to be better. We will see.

KAT isn’t as whiny as he used to be. His antics used to drive me crazy. Embarrassing. Best pro team in town. Naz is fun to watch, and Ant is a helluva athlete.
