Thanks. I have already tracked down a helmet from a buddy and am in the process of getting my wheeler licensed. As they always say, better safe than sorry!

Yeah, it would hit the tailgate. I actually have the shack in the back with the tailgate shut (It rests on top of the tailgate when it is shut. I do take my valuables inside also, but a 1200 dollar shack is the most expensive of them all. ha ha. I have done the whole ratchet straps and lighted parking lots in the past and I think that is what I will have to stick with. Maybe replace the ratchet straps with a chain that I can overlap and lock with a padlock? I don’t know, like mentioned, if someone wants it bad enough they are going to get it.

Thanks James!! I will put in a call and get it ordered up. It shouldn’t be too hard to figure out a way to get that cradle mounted.

Well, put the official order in this morning! Thanks for the information. Also, would like to point out that Lonnie at Thorne Bros was MORE than willing to help me out with all of my dumb questions. He was very quick to respond through e-mail and was very helpful. Below is what I went with.

26 inch Thorne Bros Custom Perch Sweetheart
    5 inch sweetheart handle
    STEALTH REC outside guides
2 inch ML Tripwire Strike indicator (they come standard 3 inches but I wanted it to hold a bit more weight)

Now to hurry up and wait! ha ha.

I should have clarified. I meant the tripwire medium light strike indicator to put on the sweetheart. Thanks a lot for the info!

Okay, call me an idiot, but I need some explanation on the whole button as a marker thing. I have always used the small bobbers and wrapped the line around two or three times. Can somebody explain or post a picture of the button. Thanks.

The past 3 years I have used Tica Cetus SS 500’s and absolutely love them! I live near the Missouri River and have caught many big northerns and walleyes with them and the drag has been perfect with every fish. I also just purchased 2 Shimano Symetre 500 reels this fall (found them on sale for 49.99) and am very excited to try them out! I am expecting the same quality out of the Symetre’s, if not a bit better than the Tica’s.

Thanks for the response. How big of bottom bouncer do you use…i know it can depend on wind and how many are in the boat with you, but I am planning on bringing 1/2, 1, and 1.5 oz along. Did you use single hook or double hook spinner setups? What time of year do you usually go?
