I was out yesterday with my oldest and her friend. I have a 8” lite flight and only two flashers, so they had to share. I drilled triple holes all day long with the ducer in the middle. The lite flight was flawless daisy chaining holes.
If the drill is only days old though just take it back to the store. OP mentioned that it was only after a few holes. This was also my experience and I had a replacement drill from All American do it center that afternoon. Just my two cents, may get you back on the ice faster. But yes Milwaukee has excellent service.
I have the one pictured. Those instructions sure help though. I was inserting the auger just like a drill bit by powering the chuck closed and not paying any attention to how the teethe landed on the adapter. Thank you both for the info, it’s much appreciated. I didn’t want to take a second drill back with a torn up chuck.
Ok so instead of just “powering” the chuck into place, use my hands and line it up? That makes sense. I figured it was operator error! 😂. Thanks for the info!

OnX takes all that google searching out of the equation 👍
Probably, but not everyone wants to pay $30 to $100/year for an occasional need.
Yes you are right…if I wasn’t freelancing geese and ducks all over the place, begging farmers for permission, I wouldn’t pay for it either. It is a cool app though.
I got a 6” lite flite for Christmas, drilled maybe 20 holes with it, I’m upgrading to the 8”. I’ll give you a good deal on the 6” if you decide you want it.
Only thing that concerns me is it says that it bolts on to the power head. Not sure how compatible that would be with a cordless drill. Might have to ask that question to Strikemaster.
