Replace the diaphragm if you already tried fresh gas.

I would stick with the same brands. If you have a vex have your dad get a vex. The problem is power output. Marcum puts out 2500 watts and the vex puts out 400w on your model. Both great apart – far apart. Vex has a much more sensitive receiver to deal with the lower power it transmits. So when fished by something putting out high power; it gets crushed. Marcum put out a lot of power and has a less sensitive receiver so it is not bothered by a vex.
In addition to the narrow cone the depth and bottom structure affect interference. Shallow over mud is not bad. Deep over rock is terrible.
    I own an lx-5 and a fl-8.

I started out finding those hidden honey holes in an old Stinson Ski plane. I realized in the long run; its easier to snowmobile in. I was ‘hooked’ laker fishing about 15 miles west of Nestor Falls on a lake I don’t know if I could find again. There’s just no more fun than having a big trout chase your jig 100′ up and down and back up the vex again. Only to rip that med/hvy out of your hands when it decides to bite.
No joke about the test of equipment, clothing and will! My last 2 trips have been just that. I’m hoping to redeem myself after last years 5 day stretch of -40 and a wind that wouldn’t quit. So cold I broke the sled on my X2 which made the rest of the trip a real ‘drag’. Going to Nester in just under 2 weeks!

    James,

Thank you for the reply! I’m heading up to Nestor Falls area over MLK weekend. The key word is ‘chasing’ giant trout but there’s plenty of potential to hook up. I’m bringing a few first timers; hopefully not too much trip for them. If you want details on the trip let me know. The more the merrier! Looking forward to the pics..

I just picked up a Polaris IQ WT last year and when I saw this setup on the show the other day I thought I may have found my solution after doing a ton of searching this summer. My question is if anyone has any better pictures of this setup on the snowmobile. I’m wondering if I’ll have clearance to open up the seat storage area and also how wide the setup is with auger carrier on it. Most of my fishing is over some narrow portages up in Ontario searching for giant trout. How do you gain access to the rack under the box? I saw the marcums in there but didn’t know where the access is.

Thanks again for any help in advance. Looks like a great setup. what’s the best way to get one before next weekend?
