What i dont understand is why people that hunt public land don’t just go buy their own land to hunt on. With hunting land being so cheap and easy to acquire, everyone should just have their own 80 acres. Just about everyone was about ready to hang some guy by his nuts for (legally) passing a bus because he should have been more safe around kids going to school. Then, when school is cancelled for unsafe roads/weather for these same kids, people freak and wonder who could possibly making such a decision. Interesting!

I would second the Isa Browns. We have a combination of those and Barred Rocks and both are producing like crazy right now and the Isa’s were good all winter.

Need help identifying a bird that has been by a few times recently.
It is really dark colored, almost black. Pretty large for a bird, I figure its a little over 100 lbs. I can always tell that it has been at the feeders because all of my seed is gone and my metal hanging pole is bent at a 90 degree angle.
One other note, my dog will leave most of the song birds alone, but when this particular bird shows up he feels the need to chase after him. This lead to me finally catching a photo of this rare bird
