I think part of the confusion here is in the first picture you see the kicker motor and in the second you see the much larger main motor. Basically pic 1 big fish small motor, second picture “small” fish , big motor. Just an observation.

I say it exists. It happened to me on a very nice buck last year. Lots of blood right away and then down to a trickle after a couple hundred yards. Spent the entire next day looking for him. No luck.
April 2, 2013 at 7:08 pm #1158558I’m with Suzuki on this one. I tried it and it didn’t work. The only thing that works for me is to stand out there with them while they do there business. Unfortunately that’s not always an option.
April 2, 2013 at 2:28 pm #1158422It’s not just a small dog thing. I have two large dogs and they will eat it right out of the chute like soft serve if I’m not paying attention.
October 18, 2011 at 7:57 pm #112591I feel for you. I have a shorthair that is 8 now and has had them for most of his life. I tried EVERYTHING. Had him to the U of M a few times and they put him on a cocktail of drugs that made him have seizures so I said enough of that. He has been on Prednisone for the last 5 years. It is literally the only thing that works for him. The vets said it will most likely shorten his life, but he would have no skin left by now if he weren’t on it. Good luck, I hope you find something that works for your pal.
September 21, 2011 at 12:52 pm #110545I got my first bow kill ever on Sunday night. 20 yard quartering away shot and she didn’t even go 10 feet. Year number 3 with the bow for me and I finally sealed the deal. Now it’s time to get after a big boy.
September 12, 2011 at 1:36 pm #994307The store was completely empty when I drove by last week. Not sure if they moved or closed up shop.
July 7, 2011 at 3:51 pm #107196My money can be kept as well for site costs. Thank you to the guys who put this together, I know there was a lot of hard work that went into it.
May 12, 2011 at 9:23 pm #106182Fantastic idea! My grandparents have some farm land west of the cities and they put a pond in many years ago. I learned how to fish out there and still make a few trips up each year to catch some bass, sunnies, and crappies. I absolutely love it and have many great memories from my time spent on the pond.

April 20, 2011 at 1:51 pm #958957I grew up about a mile form a great park for playing whatever sport was in season. Football season was tackle football, no pads. Baseball season was baseball. They flooded the park in the winter for a great skating rink. We would all ride our bikes to the park after school chose two captains and pick teams. Sure there were injuries. I took a baseball to the side of the dome while pitching, out cold, I lived. There were stitches, broken bones, and the occasional disagreement about a call. With no refs or umps we always came to a compromise.
A few years ago I bought a house across the street from this park. Once, in the 5 years I lived there did I see a pick up baseball or football game going on. They stopped flooding the rink 3 years ago because of budget cuts.
My time in this park helped me learn a lot more about life than I ever could have known at the time. Without an ump or ref or grownup around we had to learn to handle disagreements, we had to man up and knock on the crabby neighbors door when our ball went in their yard. I guess what I am trying to say is we had to learn how to deal with people. It seems to me kids are so sheltered now that they don’t learn these skills. It’s too bad really.

December 30, 2010 at 1:28 pm #97858My guess is they are from 2009. The brow tines were both chewed up a bit. Although I would have thought they would have been more chewed up than they were for laying for a year.

November 23, 2010 at 5:50 pm #94110I like the point restriction. There are a group of us where I hunt that have been doing this for years. Two years ago we got a new neighbor and his group shoots whatever walks by. So for me and where I hunt I like it. That being said I have a friend who’s dad loves to hunt but doesn’t get around the best any more. He wants to get out there and shoot the first one that walks by and then be done. I have a hard time with the law telling a guy like that he has to change what he has done for 40 years especially when you consider his circumstances.
October 26, 2010 at 5:25 pm #90149I am going to second the Exoflex. Have had mine for a few weeks now and I absolutely love them. Very comfortable to walk in. I have the 1200 gram insulated ones.

March 25, 2010 at 9:29 pm #857329Plenty of parking there. You can also park on the road if the lot is full.
February 12, 2010 at 8:53 pm #841944I feel your pain. I had to put one of mine down 2 weeks ago tomorrow. 3 1/2 years old ran out in front of a snowmobile. Not an easy or fun decision. They have a way of letting you know when it’s time though.

No. But I do think the only reason this makes news is 1. He is a rich ball player and 2. He is black. If I point an unloaded gun at someone, you would never hear about it!

True, but you would probably be tossed in the can real quick like.

This isn’t a gun debate, it’s a common sense thread.
Common sense would dictate if I were a muli-millionair ball player on the road all the time, I’d want my guns near…..and loaded!
-J.
Would you also say that common sense would dictate you pointing said gun at a coworker?
November 18, 2009 at 10:15 pm #816807Bev’s is a great place for breakfast. Old school diner type place with generous portions and very fair prices. I tend to grab breakfast there a lot during hunting season.

October 27, 2009 at 6:26 pm #65045Sunday night I had a buck about 5 minutes behind a doe grunting the whole time. I could hear him well before I could see him. He followed the exact same trail she did. Not close enough to get a shot. Great decision to leave the grunt tube in the truck that night.
September 2, 2009 at 7:59 pm #794266He gave up back to back jacks with two outs that tied the game. The first one was on a full count. Terrible loss today.

I heard it had something to do with a speedo and some parade last weekend
I thought I saw him on the news last night, but once I saw the nose warmer I wasn’t looking any further south.
January 16, 2009 at 6:40 pm #738185Cool site. I went to the wall with my old man when I was 8 years old. It was the first time I ever saw him cry as he pointed out name after name of guys he grew up with and guys he was in the Marines with.

November 17, 2008 at 5:17 pm #43184I had a guy who bought 25 acres next to the private land I hunt come on my 60 acres and tear down two of my stands for me. I found him up there one night and he told me I needed to get off of his land and I needed to get the rest of the stands out of there. After a not so friendly discussion he came back the next day and said he realized after looking over some things that I was right and he kindly removed the stands he put up. I never received compensation for the stands he tore down though. Some people just amaze me.

November 12, 2008 at 2:23 pm #42784Thanks for the answers guys, like I say I was not saying it was a bad thing I was just trying to understand it. The whole not wanting the deer to get to the next guy makes a lot of sense where I hunt. Lots of guys with pieces of land bordering each other so i can see where it makes sense to not want “your” deer making it to the next guys land for him to shoot. The whole bow hunter and muzzle loader guys wishing they had another shot, well I know that story all too well as I let my first arrow ever fly at a deer this weekend and the arrow hit a twig about 5 yards before the deer and deflected straight down. I’m glad it turned out to be a clean miss rather than a wounded animal, but boy do I wish I would have had another shot. For the record I could not see the twig through the sight and only realized it was there after I heard it hit it and looked closer to see what had happened.

November 10, 2008 at 8:22 pm #42551I would agree with you Mossy. I saw 6 different bucks this weekend and the ones that weren’t right behind a doe had their nose to the ground and were on a mission to get somewhere in a big hurry. I have been out bow hunting quite a bit this year and all of the sudden this weekend they came alive. It was a fun couple of days to be in the woods.
