I would go for tabs first. Also consider the limited space Lenco. That is what dad and I run on our 2190’s also what they put on the 2060 and 2200 from the factory.

Saltwater 20p is a good prop. I would drop motor forsure to the top hole. That way you are running 4-5 on jackplate gauge. I typically domt touch the jackplate unless I am in big water or doing shallow water take off. Over time you will find the sweet spot for the conditions. Rough water I drop all the way down for more bite and control.

For tabs I have only ran the limited space lenco and don’t see a need for anything bigger. Then there is no trimming needed so kicker blade won’t hit and with no setback on my kicker there is plenty of room. Congrats on the boat!!

With the total scan you want to mount like the old skimmer. Being this is also your 2d sonar. If mounted out of the water while running you will not have depth reading.

I can look more into the mounts for the total scan to give a better answer on where.

2014 Ram 1500 Hemi 3.92 gears and 8 speed. Towing my WX2190 I get 14-16mpg on the highway(60-64mph) average city/highway 13-14. I do have a lift and 35″ tires but also a custom tune and intake on it. As long as I am not bucking a big wind truck locks into 8th gear on the highway. The new 8 speed and 3.92 set up is awesome!

For a true comparison dad and I made a round trip both towing 2190’s from Grand Rapids to Grand Forks to Lake of the Woods. When we rolled into Baudette I averaged 13.5 and he was at 10.5. Lots of 70+mph and of course wind out there! He had a 13′ Ram 3.92 gears and 6 speed. He now has a new truck with 8 speed lol.

There is no question the 1910 will out perform the solera in big water. What are you considering big water? I have a few buddies with the 1910 and I am beyond impressed with how it does in big water. They also both have families and use them for pleasure boating.

Having options is a great thing. Try getting to a show or stop into SBC if they are in your neighborhood. They will be more then happy to answer any questions you may have, not to mention a test drive!!

Then you have nothing to worry about between the 2 motors!

The real main difference is the mechanical vs electronic throttle. I was told from Yamaha that the SHO was tuned a little hotter then the offshore. Reliability is the same. The same block is used on the 225,250 and 300. Rest is in the tune.

I believe on the MX2040 from a 300 offshore to the 250SHO guys are seeing maybe 2mph slower with the 250.

I cant remember when they first found larvae in Winnie but last fall when we pulled the dock out was the first year I actually saw one in the lake.

On opener this year we caught many attached to weeds or on our jigs. The water is much clearer then ever before. 12FOW looks like 6.

I have 6-7 pairs of costas all 580P. My main pair I wear for fishing(3-4 days a week) barely have a scratch in them. I have a couple pairs of Oakleys and they don’t even come close in clarity. A few buddies have 580G and Maui Jims and the 580P is just as clear in our eyes and I have 20/20 )

Skeeter11- I have ran so many props on these boats since 2013 I don’t need to try many more but I am always up for catching some big eyes lol

Yesterday I put my boat in the water for the first time this year. Was just me all the gear I normally have, 1/2 fuel and rear tanks full. Wind was only about 5mph, 57.4 into the wind and 57.9mph coming back. My roost is not quite as tall as the motor hood.

    Kevin,

I am shocked you only seen 53.4 with the 21M. I have dealt with formula prop as well. I tried a 21 lightning on my 2100 with 300 offshore and jackplate. Couldn’t turn the rpms and hole shot was sluggish. On that boat I ran a 23p Turbo1 @61-63mph depending on conditions.

I don’t think a 20M would be worth trying as you should red line. Being able to run the 21M at 5800 and have great hole shot you aren’t going to gain anything with a 20.

The 19p Saltwater is a great rough water prop. A couple buddies on mine really liked the Bravo1 20p that fish Lake of the Woods a lot.

Also guys in my experience with these boats bow lift is a tough one to achieve. Guys have said they get great bow lift with a few props but yet run slower then me. Last I checked lift=less drag which=more speed.

I did run a worked 23p on my 2015 for a while. Hole shot was a little sluggish kinda like a 21 tempest. Only turned 54-5500rpms but I also ran 58mph. With a little chop and guy sitting in the back I would get a little over 59.

I have tried a Tempest 21 a few times and hated it. There was a guy who got good numbers out of a 19p on a 2060.

Kevin – Where is your motor mounted on the jackplate? 3rd hole down? If so drop it down to the top hole on the motor. With that setup and the 21M I never run less then 55 and some change. Being you want great control in rough water this allows you to really drop the motor down for bite. I want to say I run like 6-7 on the jackplate indicator for top speed.

I ran the 21 Turbo1 for a few years. I think 57-5800 was my rpms with that prop. Motor dropped all the way down on the jackplate. I really liked it. Only a couple times did it blow out in really rough water.

Ed what are you seeing for rpms and speed with the Turbo1 20p?

Dad ordered a new 2190 and once its in we’ll be trying some new props this year again. I still have my 16 so we can do some true comparisons )

Yes there is no problem with that. Just need to make sure all are running the most current software. I saw where a guy didn’t have his gen 2 touch updated and when hooked up to a gen3 he wasn’t able to share map chips. Updated and everything worked perfectly.

I know some guys are fishing in the bays for Crappies but havent seen anyone out in the main parts. I would assume wheeler traffic is safe but I would avoid channel areas or around the islands. We had plenty of cold temps this last week.

I have had my xi5 linked to my gen3’s on my last 2 boats. I like it for seeing my prop % or setting cruise control and touching a spot on the screen when in anchor mode.

How close are the vantage wires to the transducer cable or power wires to the graph? That can make a difference. Next would be to install a ferrite ring.

Thanks guys. I’ve been doing a little research on the Hankook Dyna pros….seem to be a decent tire for the money.

That or a nitto terra grappler. Pretty similar tire. I have ran almost everything out there in an AT type tire and these are the 2 best I have ran. I currently am running the terra grappler g2. Great traction, wear good and usually get around 65k miles on them and I tow a lot of trailers.

For that shallow of water them are pretty weak returns. I am leaning towards small fish/bait. When in doubt drop down a camera lol.

I do not notice any gain after 5500 – 5600.

Yeah I figured. That’s a big prop to spin that many rpms efficiently. If you are happy with the performance I would say don’t change but really being that you only need to run 55-5600 I would look at dropping pitch so you are running 5700+rpms at max speed. That way you aren’t retarding the timing of the motor.

Yes it is the 3.3L 250. Here is a picture of the prop. I am pretty sure I was at 5800 trimmed up. Here is a picture of my prop. Are the Tempest and the Turbo1 Yamaha props?.

The tempest is a Mercury prop and Turbo is owned by Yamaha. At 5800 and 54mph on a 21p prop that is a lot of slip. Curious do you notice no speed gain after like 55-5600rpms?

I see a bait ball on the bottom with some fish and a few fish up off bottom. The stuff shooting up is air bubbles more then likely.
