I ice fished a lake last night and open water fished the same lake this afternoon.
Cold plunges are amazing. You feel incredible afterwards. I’m actually looking at a tank so I can do them at home.
I had an infected molar once. It felt good after it was pulled. Seems like similar logic to me.
Thanks for posting. I really enjoyed watching them for a while on a rainy, snowy MN day when I’m stuck inside. While I’m not personally a fan of cold water immersion, they looked to be having fun.
We’ve all been there. That looks hard to put back together and may be expensive.
I haven’t shot a 12 gauge in 10-15 yrs. I’d even shoot clays with a 20. The only place I’d use a 12 is for geese. The handling of a 20 gun is way different than a 12. Not only the weight but the balance. You guys worried about shooting one $10 shell per season better not take up bow hunting, it’s $30-$40 every time you send an arrow. You may recover the arrow but the broad head is wrecked, that’s $15-$20.
I catch them all winter. They are hot for glow spoons. Keep your spoon charged and glowing with a light. As soon as you charge it up and drop it down, they appear. They love points sticking out into deep water with sharp drop offs. You can easily tell an eelpout from a walleye with livescope and how they act. Unless I see some pics of eelpout guy catching some, I may challenge him for the name.
Rage x-treme turkey broadheads are bang flop. Of course you have to hit vitals.
How do they figure the pounds of fish taken by anglers? Some people catch limits, some none, some people keep smaller fish. They have no idea how many people are out fishing on a given day.
For that matter, how is the native catch estimated? Or is it actually weighed?
Anytime it’s just estimates, it could be way off. I’m not doubting the catch was significantly higher this year with more favorable conditions.
I know this guy isn’t shooting groups, but here’s a 2058 yard hit with an air rifle.
They are all getting so heavy with the quilted insulated fabric. A shack that small can stay plenty warm with a buddy heater. I’d rather have a lighter weight shack that I can lift easily and pull easily. I’m using a 2 man clam from 1997 that I got a new cover for. It’s uninsulated but very lightweight. I’m not sure what I will buy when this one wears out.
I never drill anything but full throttle. Are you saying you let off the trigger a little it stops?
Everyone here who’s fishing for walleye, bass, trout or panfish are bothered by pike. If you’re in a watercraft start casting weed edges in 10-20 ft of water. Use a steel leader and use any of the baits you listed, you’ll catch pike. There’s nothing they won’t bite on. You’ll catch a few and get smarter quickly. There’s probably a bunch of YouTube videos you can watch waiting for the ice to go out. I’m looking forward to some of the other replies!
Clip your license on the money clip. I never have cash anyway. Fishing license is on the phone.
I know you asked about a traditional wallet, but the ridge wallet changed how I carry my cards and license. Much more secure in your front pocket and not sitting on a big lump in the vehicle causing back pain.
I voted for this! Now let’s do state government too.
Wasn’t the Boston Tea Party because of a 2% tax on tea? I’ve paid half my income in taxes my career. Let’s pay off the deficit and cut some taxes.
I had a Robalo boat that came with an aluminum trailer. Thought it was a great idea. I didn’t keep the boat very long as it wasn’t quite what I needed. I would absolutely buy aluminum if it were an option. I hate rusty, paint flaking trailers.
That’s an absolute beauty. I have a 12 just like it, but would love the 20 more. I don’t bird hunt anymore though.
Baltimore wouldn’t have needed to go for 2 if they hadn’t gone for 2 in the third quarter and failed. They didn’t need to tie the game at that point. I know momentum is a big deal, but failing a 2 pt conversion kills momentum too.
I use livescope. I see lots of fish chase my baits but won’t bite. I attribute it to the fish being neutral. When I’m experiencing this other people without live imaging are experiencing the same. I primarily fish walleyes. Can’t say I catch more on set lines away from the house.
My Eskimo 2600 fits in my ram 1500 short box with the tailgate closed.
It depends on how you fish. Sitting in a house the livescope with LVS34 gives the best views. You can identify the type of fish swimming under you. It will weigh significantly more than the ps-22. The PS-22 avoids the black box and the tripod to mount the transducer. The PS-22 would be way more portable if that’s your style of fishing. It may weigh 1/3 less too. The PS-22 will give images similar to the old panoptix units. The view of the LVS-34 will be much better looking forward, better for finding weed lines.
Very sad. I have the bug too, but waiting a couple days will make a huge difference.
A buddy heater is great in a 2600. Set it on the ice in front of you and run it on low and you’re fine. If it melts a little, the water runs down your holes. I never noticed any melting to speak of. Do not put it in the sled. It’s too close to you and too hot. I put mine in my sled and pull it all over. They are durable. I just use the regular sized buddy with a single propane cylinder. The big buddy is too big and too hot for that sized shack. I usually have my coat and hat off once it warms up. Bank snow around the bottom and you’ll be plenty warm.
