i have to say that i have seen the bass fishing become better, while other fish are becoming less active because of the heat. i have deffinatly caught more smallmouths and less walleyes throught this heat wave.

i noticed u said u fished with the “storm swim shad”. i am a very big fan of them and was just wondering how u were fishing them, letting them sink and jiggin them in, or just slowly realing them in or what?

    thanks for the report

well i live basically on the river bluffs so that was not the first one that i have seen but probably the closest i have been to a live one.( quite often there are dead ones on the train tracks).

im pretty new to the board and im not familiar to the “get together” but im very interested in meeting some of the people behind FTR and sharing tips with fellow anglers

is it suitable for say, a 16 yr old kid?

    1. jointed shad rap (any size/color)
    2. rattlin rap (craw)
    3. storm wildeye shads (not really a crank i guess)
    4.#5 walley diver
    5.storm deep thunderstick jr

i live all the way down here in prescott and bear sightings are becoming more common. there was even one sighted in town about a year ago and a friend of mine lives not to far out of town and saw one not to long ago. i have also heard about several sightings in river falls near the kinnikinick river.

i caught a couple more nice smallies last night in the same spot. they have been moving into the big river when the water is up because there is a lot of baitfish in tehre. the biggest one was about 16 but it had really nice color on it.

i was out last night right below my house and me and a friend caught about 40 walleye/saugers. granted that the biggest one was prolly 16 in and not many even streched to 14 in. but that was still a lot of fish. I was just useing a jig and a nightcrawler right at the mouth of the big river. it was a good night considering only we fished for a couple of hours.

this is interesting, i guess becuase the water is pretty low

all this rain should bring the level of water back up for a while and maybe the fish will be more active, or at least be moving

    thanks for the report

i usually use 1/4 oz jigs because i can get more feel with them, fishing the wing dams is hard if ur not used to pulling a jig over rocks, my favorite color would have to be orange

definatly ringworm, that has taken off as a hot plastic in this area

i fish about 5 miles south of prescott on some wing dams and where the big river (a small streamon the wis side) flows into the mississippi, i do very well in the spring in both areas, but im sure like all other areas, the summer fishing is slower until the evening, i constantly catch a few walleyes in the 20’s every trip i make down there though
