I grew up on the Wolf River, and have always been told sheepshead are bad for the river system. Their mouths are like little vacuums for smallie eggs. I usually when I catch them, but around this area it seems like sheepies are fan favorites. Based on the other sheephead thread, a lot of you guys like to eat them. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Pug, did you catch that out of a nuclear waste site or what?

There is nothing wrong with that. That is just good clean fun.

I grew up on the Wolf River and if you are looking to hit some bass. Go to the Waupaca River from the Wolf and you will be able to catch some nice smallies. The actual Wolf is pretty hit or miss on bass. You can catch some nice largemouth in Poygan. If the fishing isn’t doing it for ya, the Bridge bar and Slipknot are great bars right on the river in fremont to hit the sauce. Good luck

When I bought my 93 GMC Sierra, I thought I would never be able to put a price on pride. Well, the price is $2.95.

Through the tail with a 5/0 hook. We’ve gone out a couple times and caught 6 or 7 flatheads, a couple in the upper 20# range, but have missed enough to get frustrated.

One other thought with the live traps. If you get a big coon in a live trap they can rock it back and forth and roll the trap over. Most traps when turned upside down, the door will open and the coon will get out. I always either stake them down or put something heavy on top of them. Then you can either let the 22 do the job or give them a swimming lesson. Odds are they’ll fail

I do a lot of trapping, and if you use tuna or sardines you will catch every cat around. Your best bet is to go with marshmallows. Happy trapping, let me know how it goes for you

I guess I can’t really say if they are good eating or not. I’ve never actually eaten sheepshead, but then again I have never eaten out of a toilet bowl either.

My lord, Ive never heard as many people admit to eating that junk. I must say ive never tried them, but ive also never eaten from the toilet. Guess im a “fish snob”

I like this guy’s style. I’m originally from the appleton area, and I have never heard of anyone eating sheepshead until this. You all say sheepshead are good eating, but I’d be curious to see how often you actually eat them.

At least we can all agree Kevin is a nincumpoop. I mean these results are staggering.
